The Asia Foundation is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives across a dynamic and developing Asia. Informed by six decades of experience and deep local expertise, the foundation’s programs address critical issues affecting Asia in the 21st century—governance and law, economic development, women's empowerment, environment, and regional cooperation. Nowadays, The Asia Foundation works with Korean partners to meet the challenges and responsibilities arising from Korea's emergence as an important economic and diplomatic player in the Asia-pacific region, even as the country faces the unfinished business of national unification.
