초록/요약
현대 패션의 경향을 살펴보면 과거 대량생산과 일률적이고 대중적인 유행의 흐름을 따르던 것에서 벗어나 보다 다양한 분야와 표현에 관심을 두고 새로운 것을 모색하려는 움직임이 활발한 것을 알 수 있다. 개인의 삶의 모습에서 비롯되는 스타일 경향을 중시하게 되었고 각종 정보매체의 발달로 서로의 생각과 관심사를 쉽게 공유할 수 있게 되면서 공통의 관심사를 가진 사람들과 교류하고 공감하는 일을 더욱 가속화시켰다. 패션 분야에서도 이러한 흐름을 반영하여 자신을 표현하는 스타일에 주목하게 되었고 특유의 감성을 바탕에 둔 개성이 더욱 경쟁력을 갖게 되었다. 삶의 방식과 모습을 나타내는 매체로서의 패션은 그 중요성이 의상뿐만 아니라 착장을 이루는 다양한 요소들에 의해 발전, 표현되는데 그 중에서도 장식성을 더해 스타일을 완성시켜주는 바디 오너먼트의 역할이 더욱 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 인체의 유기적인 곡선미를 지니고 있는 코르셋 이미지를 디자인 모티프로 응용하였다. 모티프를 재해석함에 있어서 수직, 수평, 사선의 구성선을 도입하였고 이를 통해 여성미와 모던한 감성을 작품에 표현하였다. 다크톤의 천연가죽 소재를 사용하고 아일릿, 루프, 금속 링을 혼합 사용한 레이스 업 장식으로 관능미를 강조하여 독특하고 개성 있는 스타일을 창출하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 인체의 조형미를 표현한 바디 오너먼트를 개발함으로써 천연가죽 소재를 효과적으로 접목한 창의적인 디자인을 제시하고 패션디자인의 표현영역을 확대하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 국내외 문헌 및 선행연구 자료를 통해 바디 오너먼트의 정의와 역사에 대해 조사하고, 바디 오너먼트의 유형을 신체 부위별로 분류하여 종류와 특징을 분석하였다. 현대패션에 나타난 바디 오너먼트 사례들을 수집하여 착용 부위별 다양한 유형으로 나누어 살펴보고 특징적인 응용방식과 소재표현을 중심으로 분석하였다. 다음으로 코르셋의 정의와 역사에 관한 이론적 고찰을 통해 코르셋의 일반적인 개념과 시대적 변화 양상을 폭넓게 분석하였고 코르셋의 장식기법과 장식요소를 세분화하여 디자인과 디테일 표현방법에 대해 중점적으로 살펴보았다. 선과 형태, 재질, 색채의 조형적 특징에 대해 조사하고 디자인을 발전시켰으며 관련 이론들을 바탕으로 코르셋을 응용한 바디 오너먼트 작품, 화보, 전시, 컬렉션 자료들을 수집하여 디자이너들이 선보인 다양한 사례와 표현방법에 대해 분석하고 연구를 진행하였다. 이러한 다양한 응용사례들을 통해 코르셋 이미지의 모티프를 선정하고 스타일 구성요소로써의 역할과 비중에 대해 분석하여 디자인을 전개하였다. 본 연구는 이론연구와 사례분석을 토대로 코르셋 이미지를 선정하고 디자인 모티프를 응용한 다양한 실루엣의 바디 오너먼트 디자인을 전개하였다. 코르셋의 조형적 특징에 나타난 형태와 장식기법, 장식요소를 접목하여 디테일과 효과적인 소재표현을 나타내고 다양한 패션 액세서리를 포함하였으며 초커, 목걸이, 벨트, 브라 탑, 윙스, 뷔스티에, 코르셋, 베스트의 형태로 구성하여 총 8점의 작품을 제시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 코르셋의 조형성을 작품에 응용함에 있어 허리를 강조한 수직, 수평, 사선의 구성선을 도입하고 디자인 모티프를 재해석하여 작품에 응용한 결과, 모던한 감성과 여성미를 강조한 실루엣을 창출할 수 있었다. 둘째, 코르셋의 유기적인 곡선미와 벨트, 베스트, 브라 탑 등 다양한 패턴의 결합으로 독특한 형태미를 표출할 수 있었으며 새로운 바디 오너먼트의 디자인을 작품에 나타낼 수 있었다. 셋째, 코르셋의 조형적 특징에 나타나는 장식기법 및 요소들 중, 레이스 업 기법의 표현과 장식의 응용을 통해 시각적 특징과 여성성 표현이 가능하였다. 아일릿, 루프, 금속 링과 같은 재료를 혼합 사용하여 장식성을 강조하였고 컷 아웃 기법으로 기하학적 패턴을 형성하고 프린지로 디테일을 장식 할 수 있었다. 넷째, 작품의 소재로 블랙 천연가죽을 사용함으로써 기존 코르셋의 섬유 소재보다 강인한 느낌의 관능미를 강조하였고, 다크톤의 색채 선정을 통해 시크하고 정제된 감성을 나타내며 개성 있는 스타일링을 이끌어낼 수 있었다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 현대 패션디자인 경향을 바탕으로 코르셋의 조형적 특징을 분석하고 다양한 장식과 디테일 표현을 응용한 바디 오너먼트 디자인을 제시하였다. 패션의 시각에서 본 바디 오너먼트는 착장과 스타일의 완성 면에 있어 장식효과를 높여주고 패션의 경향과 시대적 흐름을 반영하여 자신이 가진 개성과 스타일을 표현하는 수단으로써 가치가 큰 것을 알 수 있었다. 나아가 첨단기술시대의 바디 오너먼트는 예술적 측면에 기능과 기술이 접목된 문화양식으로 더 큰 발전을 가져올 것이라 예상된다. 앞으로 바디 오너먼트의 다양한 소재와 기술의 접목, 창의적인 기법 개발이 활발히 이루어져 패션 전반의 발전을 가져올 수 있기를 기대한다.

According to contemporary fashion trends, mass production, uniformity and popular appeal that had prevailed in the past went through changes to develop interest in diversified areas and expressions and grope for something new. An emphasis was placed on style trends originated from individual life, and it became possible to easily share each other’s thoughts and interest on the back of advancement of various information media, which further accelerated exchanges with and responses to those with common concern. Even the fashion area reflected these trends to pay attention expressive styles, and individuality based on specific emotions became more competitive. As a medium of expressing life style and the way of life, fashion can be advanced or expressed through the use of diverse elements that constitute not only clothes but also dressing. Of them all, body ornaments that complete styles through addition of decoration play an important role. In this regard, the study applied corset image with organic curvaceousness of the human body as design motif. At a time of reinterpretation of the motif, such composition lines as vertical lines, horizontal lines and slant lines were introduced, and feminine beauty and modern sensibility were expressed in works through them. Natural leather material with dark tone was used, and voluptuous beauty was emphasized through the use of lace-up decoration based on eyelets, loops and metal rings to create a unique individual style. The study aims to suggest a creative design that effectively grafts natural leather material by developing body ornaments that express the formative beauty of the human body while expanding expressive area of fashion design. As for the contents and methods of the study, definition and history of ornaments were examined through the use of domestic and foreign literature and previous studies, and body ornaments were classified by body part to analyze their types and characteristics. Examples of body ornaments that appeared in the contemporary fashion were collected to classify them by applied body part, and analyses were conducted centering around characteristic application methods and material expression. The study also theoretically examined definition and history of corset to conduct extensive analyses on general concept of corset and its periodic changes and departmentalized decorative techniques and elements of corset to examine design and detailed expressive methods. It delved into formative characteristics of lines, shapes, material and colors, advanced design, collected data on body ornament works, pictorials, exhibitions and collections through application of corset and analyzed diversified examples and expressive methods unveiled by designers. Through these diversified applications, motifs of corset image were selected, and analyses were conducted on roles and importance of component of style with regard to development of design. The study is focused on selecting corset image based on theoretical research and case analyses and developing body ornament design of various silhouettes to which design motifs were applied. Decorative techniques and elements that appeared in the formative characteristics of corset were combined to express details and effective materials, and diversified fashion accessories were included, and a total of 8 works were suggested in terms of a choker, a necklace, a belt, a bra top, wings, a corset and a vest. The study led to the following conclusions. First, as a result of introduction of such composition lines as vertical lines, horizontal lines and slant lines that emphasize the waist at a time of application of formativeness of a corset to a work and application of them based on reinterpretation of design motifs, it became possible to create silhouettes that stress the feminine beauty of modern sensitivity. Second, organic curvaceousness of a corset combined with such diversified patterns as belts, vests and bra tops led to expression of the unique physical beauty in addition to new body ornament designs. Third, of decorative techniques and elements appearing in formative characteristics of a corset, application of expression of lace-up technique and decoration made it possible to realize visual characteristics and femininity. Decorativeness was emphasized through combined use of such materials as eyelets, loops and metal rings, and geometric patterns were formed through the use of a cut-out technique, and details were decorated with fringe. Fourth, natural black leather was used as material to express stronger voluptuous beauty than existing corset fabric, and dark tone colors were selected to indicate chic refined sensitivity and derive individual styling. The study was concentrated on analyzing formative characteristics of a corset based on modern fashion design trends and suggesting body ornament designs to which diversified decorations and detailed expressions were applied. The body ornaments viewed from the fashion perspectives enhance decorative effects in terms of dressing and completion of style and turn out to be valuable as a means of expressing individuality and style in reflection of fashion trends and the times. Furthermore, the body ornaments in the era of advanced technology are expected to experience more growth as a cultural style that combines artistry with functions and technologies. It is hoped that various materials and technologies will be combined with regard to the body ornaments and creative techniques will be further developed so that the overall fashion sector will go through development in the future.
