초록/요약
지역아동센터 교사의 소진이 아동 발달에 부정적인 것은 알려져있으나, 어떠한 경로로 교사의 소진이 아동에 악영향을 끼치는지 그 과정에 대해 분석한 연구는 국내외적으로 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지역아동센터 교사의 소진이 교사의 직무만족도와 교사-아동 관계를 통해 아동의 학교적응에 부정적인 영향을 끼치는지 소진의 직접·간접 효과를 분석하였다. 지역아동센터 교사와 이용 아동을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 196개의 지역아동센터에 소속된 196명의 교사와 986명의 아동을 분석대상으로 하여 다층구조의 자료에 적합한 다수준 구조방정식 모형을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 소진은 교사의 직무만족도를 감소시키고, 교사-아동관계에도 부정적인 영향을 끼쳐, 결국 아동의 학교적응을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 소진과 교사-아동관계는 직접적으로도 아동의 학교적응도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 지역아동센터 교사의 처우를 개선하여 소진을 예방하고, 교사와 아동 간의 관계를 향상시키기 위한 사회복지 실천적, 정책적 함의에 대해 논의하였다.

Burnout in community child center teachers is known to have adverse effects on children’s healthy development. However, little is known about the process of how teachers’ burnout affects children. Thus, this study aims to examine how burnout in community child center teachers can negatively affect children’s school adjustment by focusing on the mediating effects of teachers’ job satisfaction and the teacher-child relationship. This study conducted a survey interview with 196 teachers at community child centers and 986 children attending those centers and used multilevel structural equation modeling(multilevel-SEM) to test the indirect effects of job satisfaction and the teacher-child relationship. The findings show that teachers’ burnout decreases job satisfaction and affects the teacher-child relationship, thus decreasing children’s school adjustment. Teachers’ burnout and the teacher-child relationship were found to also directly affect children’s school adjustment. Social work practice and policy implications include improving working conditions at community child centers to prevent teacher burnout and enhance the teacher-child relationship. This will eventually increase children’s school adjustment.
