본 연구의 목적은 한부모 여성의 3세대 가족과정을 중심으로 가족구성원들과의 경험을 탐색하고 이해하는데 있다. 이를 위해 경험에 의미를 부여하는 Clandinin과 Connelly의 내러티브 탐구를 활용하였다. 한부모, 한부모의 친정엄마, 한부모 자녀 3명을 연구참여자로 선정하였으며, 세월의 흐름을 탐색하기 위해 첫 면담을 진행한 뒤 3년 뒤에 다시 한 번 면담을 진행하는 종단적 질적 연구방법을 채택하였다. 연구참여자들이 경험한 가족과정의 의미는 “세월을 견뎌낸 낙숫물이 바위의 틈을 만들다”로 도출되었다. 한부모 3세대를 고찰하는 연구결과를 통해 한부모 입장에서 일과 양육을, 자녀 입장에서 아동 발달을, 원가족의 관점에서 협력을 지원할 수 있는 가족사회복지에 대한 함의를 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore and understand the experiences with family members, focusing on the three-generation family process of single-mother. To this end, we used Clandinin and Connelly's narrative inquiry that gives meaning to experience. Single-mother, single-mother's mother, and her child were selected as research participants, and longitudinal qualitative research method was utilized. To explore the passage of time, we conducted the first interview and then another interview three years later. The meaning of the family process experienced by the participants was derived from "the falling water that endured the passage of time creates a gap in the rock." Through the research results examining the three-generation of single-mother, we discussed the implications of family social welfare, which can support work and parenting from a single parent's perspective, child development from a child's perspective, and cooperation from the perspective of the original family.
