Differences in Cognitive and Emotional States of Learners according to the Micro-content Information Presentation Style

This study used micro-content information presentation styles to identify the cognitive and emotional learner characteristics affecting the learning process. To verify the correlations between cognitive or emotional states and learner achievement, the relationships between content design, learning experiences, and learning achievement were investigated in 63 college students, from which the following were found. The micro-content information presentation method revealed that cognitive learner statuses were partially different, there was a statistically significant difference in the emotional state of learners, and the learners’ cognitive and emotional states partially correlated with learning achievement. Using a multi-mode perspective that involved analyzing physiological and psychological learner responses, behavioral logs, and self-report questionnaires, this study was able to more deeply identify the changes in cognitive and emotional learner states and the relationships with achievement.
