Exact S-matrices have played essential roles in nonperturbative computations arising in AdS/CFT dualities. We review basic aspects of the world-sheet S-matrices for the AdS/CFT and their applications in an introductory level. We focus mainly on the exact S-matrix of the planar N = 4 SYM theory which consists of AdS5/CFT4 and its applications. S-matrices of β-and η-deformations of AdS5/CFT4 and AdS4/CFT3 and related recent developments are briefly commented. © 2016, The Korean Physical Society.
