Counting processes (point processes) constitute a useful tool for modelling random recurrent events. Numerous papers and books were published in recent decades on various aspects of modelling and analysis of recurrent events, describing also a wide range of applications. These applications include but not limited to: analysis of repairable items, queueing models, insurance risk analysis, biology, telecommunication, and so forth. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.
