초록/요약
The purpose of this study is to develop a guideline to standardize Chinese translation of Korean tourism and cultural terms and propose recommendations based on the guideline, by reflecting the result of investigation on the current state of Chinese translations regarding tourism and cultural terms in Korea travel guide books published overseas and acceptance of the terms among native Chinese speakers. The procedure of the study can be roughly broken down into following four stages: ① form a database by collecting tourism and cultural terms from Korea travel guide books published overseas and by the Korea Tourism Organization(KTO), as well as the online data presented by KTO, local governments, and the Cultural Heritage Administration(CHA); ② review and categorize problem cases in existing translations; ③ investigate the acceptance level of the translated terms among the native Chinese speakers through online survey and one-to-one in-depth study; ④ propose standardization guidelines and recommendations based on the results of the online survey and one-to-one in-depth study.
