초록/요약
The purpose of this study is to analyze characteristics of business interpretation and translation by conducting in-depth interviews and surveys for in-house interpreters and translators who work in a company or business setting. In traditional theories, faithfulness and equivalence are regarded as the ideal result of translation. In business interpreting, interpreters have to face the problem of choosing different strategies for business interpreting. There is a dynamic interaction among business dialogue; as a result, the main role of interpreter in business interpreting is considered more as a coordinator and a mediator than a mere interpreter. Business translation requires more than a linguistic ability. Familiarity with the specific field to be interpreted is much more important for an accurate decoding the information in the source text.
