서울시 도시색채 정체성 형성요인에 관한 연구

Research on the Factors that Form the Color Identity in Seoul

초록/요약

The purpose of this study is to deduct the factors that form urban color identity from the perspective of an observer, and by examining the differences, identify through empirical research the concept of a city's color identity, which has not yet been clearly defined academically. Koreans were surveyed about Seoul, and confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, T-test, and multiple response analyses were conducted on the results. According to the previous study, the respondents were divided into two aspects: one aspect was residents or non-residents. The other aspect was whether they were from Seoul or other cities. The analysis results identified four factors related to city color identity formation, found a very high correlation between the factors, and revealed a close correlation between natural color factors and both the historical and modern cultural heritage color factors. The evaluation of historical heritage colors showed statistically significant differences depending on the characteristics of the observer. The multiple response analysis results show that the color of taxis is quite influential on the color identity of Seoul. Through this, we confirmed that the functions that help urban use and historical and cultural memories are also important for urban color identity. Out of the ten color samples in Seoul, the recognition score for gray was high, but the positive evaluation was low. Therefore, it is still unclear whether the respondents thought of Seoul's historical color or the negative image of a gray city.
