초록/요약

This study aims to examine the challenges and obstacles faced by Vietnamese returnees during their re-entry into Vietnam. The goal of the study is to develop an in-depth understanding of these difficulties and the overall life satisfaction of returnees in Vietnam. Through the study results, we can see the difficulties faced by the returnees in Vietnam, that is, job hunting, adapting to the corporate culture, and reverse culture shock. Specifically, while adapting to corporate culture, the returnees struggled with communication, work style, and work attitude at their workplace. Returnees experienced reverse culture shock with regard to food, transport, communication, and environment pollution in their daily life. Among all the difficulties, adapting to corporate culture majorly affected the returnees’ workplace learning and work attitude. This difficulty was also responsible for the returnees quitting their jobs. It also affected the returnees’ workplace learning and work attitude. By investigating their process of re-acculturation to the Vietnamese society, this research can offer recommendations to companies to help the returnees readjust to their own cultures and benefit from their experiences. Moreover, this study can be applied as a reference to future studies related to repatriated adults readjusting to their home countries.
