이 논문은 1904년부터 1906년 사이에 간행된 가나시마 다이스이의 한국어 학습 교재 5권의 어휘 목록에 등장하는 단어를 통해 이들 교재의 편찬 방침의 변화를 살펴보고자 한다. 가나시마는 이들 5종의 교재를 약 1년 7개월이라는 짧은 기간에 편찬한다. 이러한 점에서 이들 5권의 교재에 대해 연구자들이 주목한 것도 사실이다. 기존 선행 연구들에 서는 이들 교재에 대해 주로 서문과 목차, 한국어 표기, 문법 등에 주목하여 이들 교재의 특성을 분석하였다. 이 논문 에서는 기존 연구와는 관점을 달리해서 어휘 목록에 나타난 단어들을 비교 분석함으로써 내용적인 측면에서의 가나 시마의 편찬 방침의 변화를 추적하고자 한다. 어휘에 초점을 둔 이유는 교재 편찬에 있어서 우선 고려되어야 할 사항 이 어휘 목록의 작성이라고 생각하기 때문이다. 이를 위해서는 어떤 수준의 학습자를 대상으로 할지가 정해져야 하며 교재에서 다루어야 할 어휘가 정해지고 나면 효과적인 학습을 위해 문법을 적절히 배치하고 이에 맞는 회화문의 구성 도 가능하다. 이러한 가정에서 이 논문에서는 기존 선행 연구에서 충분히 검토되지 않았던 이들 5권의 교재의 편찬 방 침의 변화를 면밀히 추적하여 이들 교재에 대한 보다 객관적인 평가를 내리고자 한다.

This study aims to identify the changes in compilation policies and the characteristics of five modern Korean language textbooks by Kanashima Taisui that were published between 1904 and 1906. To this end, a comparative analysis of the words on the vocabulary lists was conducted. Many studies have been conducted on the prefaces, tables of contents, Korean notation, and grammatical errors of the textbooks, but further research is needed for the area covered by the resent study. This paper investigates the changes of the compilation policies of these materials in greater detail by analyzing them from a lexical perspective that has not yet been addressed in previous studies, an approach leading to a deeper insight into linguistic content.
