최근 교육 환경의 변화에 따라 각자의 생활공간에서 온라인으로 접속하여 교사 및 학습자 간 상호작용이 이루어지는 실시간 다대면 온라인 한국어 강의가 확산되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 강의를 수강한 학습자들을 대상으로 화상회의 플랫폼을 이용한 수업에서 느낀 매체 효능감, 실재감, 수강 만족도를 알아보고자 하였다. 매체 효능감과 실재감에 영향을 미치는 변인으로 수업에서의 모국어 사용 여부에 따른 차이를 알아보고, 모국어가 사용되지 않는 경우 숙달도가 변인으로 작용하는지 살펴 보았다. 마지막으로 매체 효능감과 실재감, 수강 만족도 간의 상관 관계를 확인해 보고자 한다. 본 연구를 위하여 국외의 모국어 사용 환경에서 강의를 수강한 초급 학습자와 국내 모국어 미사용 환경에서 강의를 수강한 초급 및 중급 학습자 61명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 실험 결과 실시간 다대면 온라인 한국어 강의에서 모국어 사용 여부와 숙달도는 매체 효능감에 영향을 미치는 주요한 변수가 된다는 것을 확인하였다. 초급 학습자의 경우 모국어를 사용하는 것이 매체 효능감 향상에 도움이 되었는데 매체 효능감이 수강 만족도와 상관성이 높았다는 점을 고려할 필요가 있을 것이다. 또한, 숙달도가 높을수록 매체 효능감과 실재감이 높아진다는 점, 그리고 매체 효능감과 실재감이 높을수록 수강 만족도가 높아진다는 점을 감안하면 실시간 다대면 온라인 강의는 중급으로 갈수록 더 유리하다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

In line with the recent challenges to traditional educational environments, Korean language teachers and learners are interact from their own living spaces through synchronous online classes. The aim of this study was to investigate the levels of media efficacy, presence and course satisfaction of learners from classes utilizing video conferencing platforms. While the use of primary language in class is the main variable influencing the media efficacy and presence of the learners, the proficiency level of learners also becomes a variable when primary language use is not allowed. Finally, the effect of media efficacy and presence on class satisfaction was discussed. The subjects of this survey were novice Korean language learners in foreign countries who were using their primary language in the classroom and 61 beginner and intermediate level learners in Korea who were not allowed to use their primary language in the classroom. The results of this survey show that the use of primary language and the level of proficiency of learners are important variables that influence media efficacy and presence in interactive synchronous online Korean language classes. There is a significant correlation between the levels of media efficacy, presence and class satisfaction. Thus, improving the media efficacy and presence of learners is considered to be an important factor in the successful implementation of interactive synchronous online Korean language classes.(Ewha Womans University)
