수저계급론에 대한 비판적 담론 분석: 교육불평등을 중심으로

본 연구는 신문의 사설에 나타난 수저계급론과 관련하여 Fairclough의 비판적 담론 분석방법을 적용하여 수저계급 담론이 교육불평등적 측면에서 어떠한 이데올로기를 형성하고 사회적인 맥락에서 어떻게 재구성되는 지에 대해 밝히고자 하였다. 그리고 이를 위하여 텍스트 실천, 담론 실천, 사회적 실천의 3가지 차원에서 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 텍스트를 통해 분석된 사설들은 금수저로 표상된 수저계급론에 대하여‘금수저 계층의 특권의식에서 비롯된 악행’과‘진보 정부의 인사행정의 허점’을 중심으로 대립하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 담론 실천에서는‘금수저’와‘대입’이라는 어휘 결합을 통하여 교육불평등에 대한 담론을 확대해가면서도‘공정성 이데올로기 담론’과‘무능한 정부의 정책실패 담론’이라는 정치적 갈등을 통해 헤게모니 장악을 위한 투쟁을 드러냈다. 셋째, 사회적 실천으로 금수저 계층 자녀의 대입 특혜 사건이 발생한 후 교육적 숙고 없는 정치적 판단에 의하여 대입제도 개편이 나타났다. 본 연구는 비판적 담론 분석을 통하여 수저계급론으로 표상된 교육불평등과 관련하여 언어 행위 이면에 실재하는 이념과 헤게모니를 파악하고자 했다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 연구결과를 토대로 교육의 정치화 현상, 사회구조적인 변화 요구 및 대학선발에서의 무관용주의 도입의 필요성에 대하여 논의하였다.

This study analyzed the spoon class theory that appeared newspaper editorials using Fairclough's critical discourse analysis method. The purpose of this study were to discern what types of ideologies are formed by the spoon class theory regarding the issue of inequality in education and to find how it is reconstructed in the social context of Korea. The analysis was conducted in text, discourse, and social practices. The results are summarized as follows. First, the text analysis of the editorials found in conflict the issues of educational inequality centered around ‘the evil deeds stemming from the privileged consciousness of the golden spoon class' and ‘the loopholes in the personnel administration of the progressive government'. Second, the discourse analysis observed a struggle for hegemony through the political conflicts between ‘the discourse of the fairness ideology' and‘the discourse of the policy failures of the incompetent government', while expanding the discourse of educational inequality through the combination of the words‘golden spoons' and‘college admissions' in the discourse practice. Third, the analysis of social practice pointed out that the reforms in college admission system may have been made by political judgments without appropriate educational reflection. Based on results, this study discussed the politicization of education, the demand for social changes, and the necessity of adopting a zero-tolerance policy in the college admission.
