대학 교양교육의 현황과 정책방향에 대한 탐색적 연구양 민 석 요약: 본 논문의 목적은 대학교양교육에 대한 교수자의 경험과 의견을 수렴하여 교양교육의 현황을 파악하고 교수자가 체험하는 문제점에 대한 정책적 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 연구참여자는 4개 대학에서 교양교육을 담당하고 교양교과목개발의 경험이 있는 교수자 10인이었다. 자료수집은 온라인을 통한 개방형 서면질문지를 활용하였고, 개별 면담으로 보완하였다. 자료분석은 응답자의 서면응답내용을 바탕으로 교양교육의 지향가치, 교과목개발, 학습환경과 지원체계, 성적 및 강의평가방식, 학습자와의 관계, 교양교육현장에서의 문제 등에 관한 내용을 정리하였다. 연구결과는 기초교양교육영역 확대, 교수자 상호교류체계 마련, 융복합 교과목 커리큘럼 개발, 학생 FGI를 통한 강의평가, 성적평가의 교수 자율성, 장기적 전망 속에서 지속성이 유지되는 교양교육과정 개편 등이다. 핵심어: 대학교양교육, 인성교육, 지속가능성, 환류체계, 가치교육 □ 접수일: 2020년 9월 28일, 수정일: 2020년 10월 16일, 게재확정일: 2020년 10월 20일＊ 이화여자대학교 호크마교양대학 부교수(Professor, Ewha Womans Univ., Email: netzyang@naver.com)

A Exploratory Study on the Current Status andPolicy Direction of University General EducationMinsuk Yang* Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to gather professors’ experiences and opinions on university education to grasp the current state of liberal arts education and seek policy directions on the problems experienced by professors. The study participants were 10 professors who were in charge of liberal arts education at four universities and had experience in liberal arts. Open written questions online were used for data collection and supplemented with individual interviews. Based on the respondents’ written responses, the data analysis summarizes the directional value of liberal arts education, subject development, learning environment and support system, grades and lecture evaluation methods, relationships with learners, and problems at cultural education sites. The research results include expanding the area of basic liberal arts education, establishing a mutual exchange system for professors, developing a convergent curriculum, evaluating lectures through student FGI, evaluating professors’ self-reliance, and reforming the liberal arts curriculum that maintains sustainability in the long-term outlook.
