본 연구는 베트남 문자와 한글을 모르는 베트남 결혼이민자를 대상으로 한 한글 지도 실행연구이다. 두 베트남 며느리 및 한국 시어머니에게 문화 차이 및 상호 문화 이해, 한국어 교육 양상 등을 알아보기 위해 심층 면담을 진행하였으며, 심층 면담 결과 두 며느리에게 한글 지도가 절실하다는 것을 알게 되었다. 심층 면담 진행으로 한글을 가르쳐야겠다는 문제의식을 갖게 되었고, 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 한글 지도를 실천하게 된 연구이다. 두 베트남 며느리는 TV 프로그램 <다문화 고부열전> 내 ‘한 지붕 두 며느리 베트남 겹사돈 이야기’에 2015년 4월 23일 출연한 인물이고, 베트남 글자와 한글을 둘 다 모르는 자매이다. 구어와 관련된 의사소통에서는 그리 큰 어려움이 없는 편이지만, 한글을 알지 못해서 한국에 체류한 지 10년이 되었어도 한국 국적을 취득하지 못했다. 또한 생계유지, 가정 관리, 자녀 교육, 고부 간의 의사소통 중 문자와 관련된 부분에서 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 그들이 문맹의 생활을 벗어나고 한국 생활을 독립적으로 도전할 수 있게 연구자는 그들에게 한글을 지도하였다. 베트남 며느리와 한국 시어머니 사이의 문화융합에 대한 인식이 어떤지, 문맹인 결혼이민자에게 가장 적합하고 효과적인 한글 지도 방법에는 어떤 것이 있는지 밝혔다.

This study is action research of Korean Hangeul instruction for Vietnamese marriage immigrants who do not know Vietnamese letters and Korean Hangeul. We conducted in-depth interviews with the two Vietnamese daughters-in-law and Korean mothers-in-law to study about cultural differences, mutual understanding of culture, and aspects of Korean language education, and after in-depth interviews, we found that the two daughters-in-law needed Korean Hangeul instruction. Through in-depth interviews, we became aware of the problem of teaching Hangul, and this is a study that led to the practice of teaching Hangeul to solve this problem. The two Vietnamese daughters-in-law have many difficulties in maintaining their livelihoods, managing their families, educating their children, and communicating with their parents. Therefore, the researchers taught them Hangeul so that they could escape from illiteracy and challenge Korean life independently. We investigated the perception of cultural convergence between Vietnamese daughter-in- law and Korean mother-in-law, and revealed the most suitable and effective method of teaching Hangeul to marriage immigrants who are illiterate.
