영유아 근린환경의 실외놀이공간 평가 연구 - 은평구 6개 행정동 주거지의 보육ㆍ교육기관 일과를 중심으로

초록/요약
This study focused on the outdoor play area in the neighborhoods for preschool children during their daytime activity at daycare facilities and kindergartens. Throughout field examination and analysis, we found that 61% of the daycare facilities and kindergartens at study area in Eunpyoung-gu, do not have their own outdoor play areas, and children who attend the facilities need to use adjacent public parks or playgrounds as substitute. The environmental quality of these public parks and playgrounds need to be enhanced as well, especially for environmental hygiene and security issue at the border areas. The accessibility to these outdoor play area is relatively weak to bring children at daily basis. To improve usability of those places for preschool children in the neighborhoods, outdoor play area should be provided at places accessible easily with decent quality of space.

본 연구는 영유아보육ㆍ교육기관을 이용하는 영유아가 근린환경에서 이용가능한 실외놀이공간을 조사ㆍ분석하고 평가하였다. 연구대상지로 선정한 서울시 은평구의 6개 행정동에 있는 85 개의 어린이집과 17개의 유치원 중 자체적으로 원 내에 실외놀이터를 구비한 경우는 전체의39%인 40개소에 불과하였으며, 이마저도 면적기준에 미달하는 경우가 많아 대부분의 영유아는인근의 어린이공원과 공공놀이터로 도보 이동하여야 바깥놀이활동을 할 수 있는 실정이었다. 어린이공원과 공공놀이터의 시설적합성은 대체로 양호했으나, 접근성과 공간의 면적, 위생환경 및경계부 안전관리 면에서 개선이 필요한 부분이 발견되었다. 따라서 영유아의 바깥놀이를 지원하는 근린환경 조성을 위해서는 관련 제도의 개선과 함께 공공과 민간 차원의 협력을 통한 충분한 실외놀이공간의 양적ㆍ질적 확충이 필요하다고 판단되며 이를 바탕으로 영유아의 공간 차원에서의 복지가 증진될 필요가 있다.
