연구목적: 본 연구는 아동, 보호자, 교사를 대상으로 아동권리배경지식 및 중요도, 아동최선의 이익에 기반한 아동권리인식을 확인하고 집단별 인식결과를 비교분석하였다. 방법: 아동 1,179명과 아동의 보호자 649명, 아동의 교사 200명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 아동 최선의 이익에 대한 인식 측정을 위해 8가지 에피소드를 활용하여 구성한 비네뜨(vignette)를 포함하였다. 결과분석에는 일원변량분석과 Scheffe, Dunnett T3 사후 검증을 사용하였다. 결과: 아동권리배경지식에서는 아동의 인식수준이 가장 낮았으며, 아동권리중요도 및 아동 최선의 이익에 대한 인식에서는 보호자의 인식 수준이 낮았다. 보호자와 교사는 대체적으로 생존과 보호를 중시한 반면 아동은 자율성과 자기결정을 지지하는 차이를 보였다. 결론: 아동 대상 보편적이고 정기적인 아동권리교육이 요구되며, 아동과 보호자, 교사 간 교육 시 통합적인 교육 전략을 통해 권리주체인 아동과 의무이행자인 성인의 아동권리인식이 함께 증진될 수 있도록 고려되어야할 것이다. 또한 아동권리교육의 내용과 방법 측면에서도 아동권리와 협약에 대한 정보 전달 뿐 아니라 자신의 경험 및 일상과 아동권리를 연결해보고 연습해볼 수 있도록 고안되어야할 것이다.

Objectives: This study explores the perception of children's rights between children and adults focusing on the best interest of the child with a basic knowledge of children's rights, and the level of importance. Methods: The data was collected from 1,179 children, 649 guardians, and 200 teachers in two metropolitan cities and one local city. We analyzed the collected data by using one-way ANOVA and Schffe's method to compare the difference of the mean scores on the scales between groups. Results: First, the level of awareness on the basic knowledge for children's rights were the lowest among children. Second, the level of importance and the support of children's rights were the lowest among guardians when compared to children and teachers. Third, the perception on children's rights between children and adults was identified. While adults emphasized survival and protection, children as rights-holders, supported their right to self-determination and autonomy. Conclusions: This study has shown that the perception gaps on children's rights existed between children and adults. Based on the results, it is suggested that the strategy for children's rights education needs to be developed toward a regular and universal way for rights-holders and duty-bearers. To increase awareness for children rights based attitudes, it is necessary to consider strengthening practical contents, which is engageable to real life in education curriculum, and an integrated educational strategy for an education target including children, guardians and teachers to achieve effective results.
