본 연구는 성인의 질문유형에 따른 어휘발달지연 아동과 일반아동의 주제유지능력을 비교하고, 언어능력이 주제유지능력을 예측하는지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 3-5세 일반아동 103명, 어휘발달지연 아동 29명, 총 132명을 대상으로 자유놀이 상황에서의 성인의 질문유형을 단순질문, 특수질문, 개방형 질문으로 분류하고, 각 질문유형에서 아동의 주제유지횟수를 분석하여 질문유형에 대한 주제유지비율을 예측하는 언어적 요인을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 특수질문에서 일반아동 집단과 어휘발달지연 아동 집단 간 차이가 유의하게 나타났다. 또한, 일반아동 집단에서는 수용어휘능력이 특수질문에 대한 주제유지비율을 유의하게 예측하였으며, 아동의 현재 언어능력은 개방형질문에 대한 주제유지비율을 유의하게 설명하였다. 어휘발달지연 아동 집단에서는 수용어휘능력이 개방형 질문에 대한 주제유지비율을 예측하였다.

The purpose of the study was to examine the topic maintenance ability in typically developing children(TD) and children with vocabulary delay(VD) in regard to the adults’ question type and to investigate whether language skills predict topic maintenance ability in spontaneous speech. A total of 132 children aged 3-5, including 103 TD children and 29 VD children, participated in this study. Spontaneous speech samples of adults and children were collected during free play settings. The question types of adults were classified as simple, specific, and open-ended questions, and the number of children's topic maintenance was obtained from each question type. Linguistic factors which predict the topic maintenance ratio were analyzed for each question type. The study results showed a significant difference between the groups of TD children and VD children in specific questions condition. In addition, it was receptive vocabulary score which significantly predicted the topic maintenance ratio for specific questions in children with TD. While children's current language skills(B section of KBPR) significantly explained the topic maintenance ratio for open-ended questions. In groups of VD children, receptive vocabulary scores predicted the ratio of topic maintenance to open-ended questions.
