본 연구의 목적은 영유아기 자녀를 둔 맞벌이 부부의 부모역할신념이 어떠한 하위 집단으로 분류되는지 확인하고, 집단 분류에 영향을 미치는 변수들은 무엇인지, 그리고 하위집단들의 차이는 어떠한지를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 영유아기 자녀를 둔 408쌍의 맞벌이 부부를 대상으로 잠재프로파일 분석을 진행하였다. 연구 결과 영유아 자녀를 둔 맞벌이 부부는 부모 역할에 대한 신념에 따라부부 진보형(PC:Progressive Couple), 남편 진보형(PH:Progressive Husband), 아내 진보형(PW:Progressive Wife), 부부 보수형(CC: Conservative Couple) 4개 하위집단으로 분류되었다. 집단 분류에 영향을 주는 변수는 부인의 나이, 교육과 소득이었다. 유의미한 집단차이는 다음과같다. 1) PC형의 남편과 아내는 모두 결혼만족도가 높고, 가정-일 향상, 생활만족도가 높은 것으로나타났다. 2) PW형의 남편들은 스트레스, 우울, 가정-일 갈등 정도가 가장 높았으며, 가정-일 향상 정도가 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 반대로 PH형의 남편들은 결혼만족도와 배우자 지지가 가장높고, 가정-일 갈등도 가장 낮은 수준을 보였다. 3) PW형의 아내들은 낮은 배우자 지지와 결혼만족도를 지각하면서도 가정-일 갈등은 낮게 지각하였다. PH형의 아내들은 결혼만족도는 높지만 가정-일 갈등은 높게 경험하였다. 4) CC형의 남편과 부인들은 PW형 보다는 적응적이었지만, CC형의 부인들은 가장 높은 가정-일 갈등을 지각하였다.

This study is aimed to classify the beliefs concerning parental roles of the double-earning couples with infants and toddlers, and explored the variables to contribute the group classification and sub-group differences. 408 couples were classified into four sub-groups using latent profile analysis; progressive couple (PC), progressive husband (PH), progressive wife (PW), and conservative couple (CC). Wives' age, education and income were significant variables for group classification and groups differences were as follows; 1) The PC couple showed high marriage satisfaction, work-family enhancement, and life satisfaction. 2) The husbands of PW showed the highest stress, depression, family-work conflict, and the lowest family-work enhancement. On the contrary, the husbands of PH showed the highest marriage satisfaction, spousal support, and the lowest family-work conflict. 3) The wives of PW perceived the low level of spousal support, marriage satisfaction, but showed low level of family-work conflict. The wives of PH showed high level of marriage satisfaction, but experience high level of family-work conflict. 4) The CC couple showed more adaptive results than those of WP, but the wives of CC showed the highest family-work conflict.
