발달장애 성인의 가족이 참여한 국내 질적연구 동향 분석 및 향후 과제 고찰

본 연구에서는 2008년부터 2020년 현재까지 발표된 발달장애 성인의 가족이 참여한 국내 질적연구 총 34편을 선정하여 4가지 연구주제(가족 돌봄 및 부양 경험, 발달장애 성인교육의 경험 및 인식, 진로개발 경험 및 고용 관련 영향요인, 발달장애인의 주거 및 생활) 및 세부 변인에 따라 연구 동향을 심층 분석하였고 연구주제에 따른 종합적인 분석결과를 토대로 발달장애 성인과 가족이 경험하는 어려움 및 지원요구를 도출하였다. 먼저 연구주제별 분석결과 가족 돌봄 및 부양 경험에 대한 연구가 가장 많았으며 진로개발 경험 및 고용 관련 영향요인에 관한 연구는 상대적으로 적게 발표되었다. 연구참여자와 관련하여 대부분의 연구가 어머니를 대상으로 이루어졌으며 개별면담 및 그룹면담을 통해 자료수집과 분석이 이루어졌으나 연구의 신뢰도 및 타당도 확보를 위한 노력은 다소 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 발달장애 성인과 가족이 경험하는 어려움과 관련하여 교육, 고용, 사회·경제, 주거 및 일상생활, 가족 기능, 심리·정서 등 다양한 영역에서의 서비스 및 지원요구가 제시되었다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 국내 발달장애 성인과 가족을 위한 지원방안 및 향후 연구과제를 다음과 같은 측면에서 제언하였다: 1) 관련 서비스와 지원의 양적 확대 및 질적 제고, 2) 지원을 위한 지역사회의 책임 공유 및 협력, 3) 생애주기에 따른 체계적 지원제도 및 서비스 전달체제 구축.

The purpose of this study was to investigate trends and future directions in qualitative research involving families of adults with developmental disabilities by reviewing a total of 34 relevant articles published from 2008 to 2020 in Korea. The articles were analyzed using four research topics(family experience as caregivers, experiences and perceptions of education for adults with developmental disabilities, career development experiences and factors to influence employment, and housing and living of people with disabilities) and other variables, and based on the analysis, difficulties and support needs experienced by adults with developmental disabilities and their families were identified. According to the analysis by research topic, there were the most studies on families experience as caregivers, and few studies on career development experiences and factors to influence employment. Also, most of the studies were conducted on mothers as participants, and data collection through individual and group interview and analysis were conducted, but there was some insufficient effort to ensure the reliability and validity of qualitative research. Finally, service and support needs in various areas such as education, employment, social and economic, housing and living, family function, and psychological and emotional areas were provided. Based on the findings of this study, implications to support people with developmental disabilities and their families and to facilitate future research were provided as follows: a) improving quantitative and qualitative aspects of service and supports, b) sharing responsibility and collaborating with community for supports, c) establishing systematic support institution and service delivery system according to the life cycle.
