Education for sustainability enables learners to have key competencies necessary for future society. Ecological sensitivity is an important pillar of education for sustainability, and literature education is the most appropriate education to foster ecological sensitivity. Given that sensitivity is an emotional ability to accept external stimuli, sensitivity can be embodied in efforts to accept them. According to this, ecological sensitivity can be presented in three types: ecological sensitivity through identification, observation and communication. This study analyzed works in Korean language and literature textbooks of middle and high schools and looked at the aspects of ecological sensitivity covered in the field of education. Also, this study explored the possibility of ecological sensitivity education using textbooks. According to the analysis, ecological sensitivity education was conducted by guiding appreciation of works, interpreting literary expressions, and expanding perspectives and presenting issues.
