초록/요약
본 연구는 유아교육현장에서 이루어지고 있는 다문화교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식과 요구를 알아보고, 다문화교육의 한계점에 대한 대안으로 제시되고 있는 상호문화교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 알아보고자 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구대상은 수도권에 소재한 유아교육기관에 근무하고 있는 교사 220명으로, 설문지 조사를 통해 수집된 자료로 빈도와 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, 신뢰도를 산출하였다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 분석한 결과 유아교사들이 현장에서 이루어지고 있는 다문화교육 내용에 대한 적절성에 대해 만족하고 있지 않으며 보완되어야 한다고 여겼다. 또한 교사의 대부분이 상호문화교육에 대해 들어보거나 배운 경험이 없었지만 유아를 대상으로 하는 상호문화교육이 필요하다고 느꼈고 이에 대한 교사교육이 필요하다고 하였다. 이상의 분석결과는 현재 현장에서 이루어지고 있는 다문화교육 내용에 대한 변화 및 보완이 필요하고, 이에 대한 대안으로 인식되고 있는 상호문화교육에 대한 교사교육이 제공되어야 함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to find out the perceptions and needs of early childhood teachers for multicultural education in the early childhood education field, and to find out the perceptions and needs for intercultural education presented as an alternative to the limitations of multicultural education. The subjects of this study were 220 teachers working at early childhood education institutions located in the metropolitan area, and the frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, and reliability were calculated from the data collected through a questionnaire survey. As a result of analysis based on this study, it was considered that early childhood teachers were not satisfied with the appropriateness of the contents of multicultural education in the field and should be supplemented. In addition, although most of the teachers had not heard or learned about intercultural education, they felt that intercultural education for young children was necessary and that teacher education was necessary. The above analysis results suggest that changes and supplements to the contents of multicultural education currently being conducted in the field are needed, and teacher education for intercultural education recognized as an alternative to this needs to be provided.
