현대사회에서는 새로운 매체의 등장과 융복합 현상에 의한 기존 형식이 해체되면서 탈경계 현상이 나타나고 있다. 또한 인간 신체는 문화 코드의 중심이 되고 있다. 이에 본 연구의 목적은 표피와 신체의 근현대담론에 따라 현대 패션의 확장 현상의 유형을 분석하고 그 의미를 고찰함으로써 현대 패션디자인의 흐름을재인식 하는데 있다. 또한 표피와 신체를 중심으로 이루어지는 다양한 현대 패션의 실험적 시도를 살펴봄으로써 향후 패션디자인 분야의 확장적 변화에 대한 가능성 및 인식의 근거를 마련하고자 한다. 본 연구에서디자이너 선별과 사례 선정은 국내 패션디자이너 10인을 대상으로 면담을 통해 이루어졌다. 신체와 패션의관계를 새롭게 설정하고자 시도하는 디자이너의 작품을 연구대상으로 특징을 분석하였다. 표피와 신체 관련근현대 담론은 현대 미술 및 디자인에서 표피와 신체에 대한 인식을 설명해주는 근거가 된다. 표피 담론의양상에 나타난 표피 확장 유형은 독자적인 가치를 확보하게 되었고, 이에 따라 촉각에 대한 재인식과 경험이확대되며, 비물질 이미지를 추구하게 된 것으로 나타났다. 한편 신체 담론의 양상에 나타난 신체 확장 유형은능동적 주체로서 신체, 매개물과 결합하여 확장된 신체, 탈고정되고 변용된 신체로 나타났다. 표피와 신체의근현대 담론을 기반으로 현대 패션의 확장 현상을 유형화해 본 결과, 신체 주도, 표피 주도, 환경 주도의 유형으로 분석되었다. 곧 신체가 확장 현상을 주도하는 원인으로 작용한 유형을 ‘신체 주도 확장’, 표피 스스로가지각 체험의 원인이 되는 유형을 ‘표피 주도 확장’, 환경이 변화를 주도하는 원인을 제공하는 유형을 ‘환경주도 확장’으로 분류하였다. 유형화에 따른 현대 패션 확장 현상의 의미를 분석한 결과, 현대 패션은 매체적, 인터페이스적, 탈경계적 존재로 부상하고 있다. 현대 패션은 신체 경험을 생성하고, 신체 공간을 확장하며, 신체 혹은 환경과의 능동적 소통을 촉진하는 매체로서의 역할이 부각되고 있다. 또한 신체와 환경, 실재와가상, 가시와 비가시를 연결해주는 인터페이스적 존재로서의 역할과 함께 탈신체화되고 위계가 해체되면서신체와 패션이 일체화되는 탈경계적 존재의 양상으로 나아가고 있음을 고찰할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과를통해 현대 패션디자인의 흐름과 현대 패션이 나아갈 방향을 예측할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

In modern society, with the emergence of new media and the dismantling of existing forms due to the convergence phenomenon, the de-boundary phenomenon is emerging. In addition, the human body becomes the center of cultural code. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the types of contemporary fashion expansion based on the modern and contemporary discourse of the skin and body, and to re-recognize the flow of contemporary fashion design by examining the meaning of the expansion phenomenon. In this study, designer selection and case selection were conducted through interviews with 10 people who are composed of domestic fashion designers. The type of skin expansion in the aspect of skin discourse has secured its own value. And accordingly, the recognition and experience of tactile sensation were expanded and the immaterial image was pursued. On the other hand, the type of body expansion in the aspect of body discourse was shown as the active subject, an expanded body combined with body and medium, and unfixed and transformed body. As a result of classifying the expansion phenomenon of contemporary fashion based on the modern and contemporary discourse of the skin and body, the phenomenon was analyzed as a type of body-directed, skin-directed, and environment-directed. In other words, the type that the body acts as a cause leading the expansion phenomenon in the relationship between the skin and environment can be classified as body-directed expansion. In addition, the skin-directed expansion is the type that the skin itself causes perception experience. And the type that the environment provides the cause of change in the body and skin can be classified as environmental-directed expansion. As a result of analyzing the meaning of contemporary fashion expansion phenomenon according to classification, the contemporary fashion is rising as a medium, interface, and de-bordering existence. The results of this study are expected to predict the flow of contemporary fashion design and the direction of contemporary fashion in advance.
