본 연구는 지체장애인 가족지원에 관한 국내외 문헌 분석을 통해 지체장애인의 가족지원 연구의 동향을 살펴보고 이를 토대로 향후 지체장애인 가족을 위한 지원 과제 및 연구방향에 대해 제언하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 총 68편의 국내외 가족지원 관련 논문을 분석하였으며 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구참여자는 국내에서는 어머니를 대상으로 한 연구가 대부분이었고, 국외에서는 아버지와 어머니를 함께 대상으로 한 연구가 주를 이루었다. 또한 영유아기, 아동기의 지체장애인 가족에 대한 연구가 주를 이루었고, 청소년기, 성인기의 지체장애인 가족에 대한 연구가 현저히 적었다. 둘째, 연구 방법은 질적연구와 조사연구에 비해 실험연구가 매우 적게 나타났다. 셋째, 연구 주제는 지체장애인 가족 지원 요구에 대한 연구가 가장 많이 나타났으며, 부모와 비장애 형제자매의 심리·정서, 가족·전문가 협력에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 지체장애인 가족지원에 대한 연구는 국내에서는 특수교육 분야에서만 주로 이루어졌으나, 국외에서는 특수교육 및 의학, 복지, 재활, 심리학 등 다양한 분야에서 이루어졌다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 향후 지체장애인 가족지원 연구가 지체장애인들의 고유한 특성과 지원 요구를 고려하여 아버지, 비장애 형제, 조부모 등 다양한 가족 구성원을 대상으로 특수교육, 의학, 복지, 재활 등 다양한 분야에서 협력적으로 이루어져야 할 것을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends in domestic and international research related to family support of people with physical disabilities and to suggest support tasks and research directions for the future. For this purpose, we analyzed 68 studies from peer-reviewed domestic and international journals over the past 10 years (2010-2019). The results of this research were as follows. First, most of the Korean research focused on mothers, and most of the international research focused on fathers and mothers together. The research participants mainly consisted of infants and children, and the study of adolescence and adulthood was significantly less. Second, the research methods showed very few experimental studies, preferring qualitative and investigative studies. Third, the research topics showed that the largest number of studies focused on the need for support for families, both in domestic and international research. There were also many studies on the psychological and emotional aspects of parents and non-disabled siblings, family characteristics, and family and expert cooperation. Fourth, Korean research on family support was conducted mainly in the field special education where international research was conducted in various fields including medical care, welfare, rehabilitation and psychology, and special education. Based on these findings, we suggest that future family support research for the people with physical disabilities should be conducted in cooperation with various fields and focus on diverse family members including fathers, non-disabled siblings, and grandparents, giving consideration to the unique characteristics and support needs of all kinds of people around those with physical disabilities.
