In inclusive early childhood education settings, physical environment is the most basic element to ensure access and participation of children with physical disabilities. Teachers need to check and monitoring the physical environment based on the recommended practices to support the child's learning and development. The purpose of this study was to develop a checklist that evaluates the physical environment of the inclusive settings for preschool children with physical disabilities and to examine the Content Validity Index(CVI) of the checklist. Previous studies were analyzed to tier the elements of the checklist. The survey was compiled by the 4-point Likert scale, reviewed by 10 professionals to reserve content validation. Modifications were made according to the professionals’ opinions. As a result, the average CVIs of the checklist was .94. Implications for future research were discussed based on the results. This study suggests the guidelines for the physical environment in inclusive settings and the checklist which could be continually used. More specific guidelines that reflect the characteristics of young children with physical disabilities need to be developed and supports needed for the practices.

지체장애 유아 통합교육에 있어 물리적 환경은 지체장애 유아의 접근성과 참여를 보장하는 가장 기본적인 요소이지만, 통합유치원에서 지체장애 유아의 학습과 발달을 지원하기 위해 요구되는 물리적 환경에 대한 구체적인 연구는 이루어지지 않았다. 이에 본 연구에서는 통합 유아교육기관의 물리적 환경을 일반교사와 특수교사가 함께 점검할 수 있는 체크리스트를 개발하고 그에 따른 내용 타당도를 점검하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 선행연구를 분석하여 통합 환경에서의 지체장애 유아를 위한 물리적 환경준비도 체크리스트 항목을 추출하였으며, 4점 Likert 척도에 따라 설문지를 제작하여 10인의 전문가들에게 내용 타당도를 검증받고, 개방형 설문란에 의견을 수렴하여 그에 따라 체크리스트를 수정하였다. 이후 보완된 내용을 토대로 설문지를 작성하여 10인의 전문가에게 다시 발송하여 2차 내용타당도를 검증하였으며, 평균 내적타당도 지수는 .94로 나타났다. 추가적으로 보완해야 하는 부분들을 점검하고 반영하여 최종 문항을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 통합 환경에 배치된 지체장애 유아를 위한 물리적 환경에 대한 지침을 제공하고, 그에 따라 지속적으로 점검할 수 있는 도구를 제공했다는 데 의의를 두며, 향후 지체장애 유아의 개별적 특성을 반영한 보다 세부적인 지침 개발, 현장에서의 실제적인 사용을 위한 지원 등이 이어져야 할 것이다.
