The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of social support on teachers’ psychological burnout mediated by teacher efficacy and to explore whether these relations differ depending on teachers’ experience of violence victimization. Research participants were 480 middle and high school teachers in Seoul, Gyunggi, Jeju, Sejong, and Busan. The structural equation model was used to verify the relationship of main variables. The results are as follows: First, administrators’ support, co-workers’ support, and families’ support showed positive effects on teacher efficacy. Second, teacher efficacy showed negative effects on teachers’ psychological burnout, but administrators’ support, co-workers’ support, and families’ support did not show effects on teachers’ psychological burnout. Third, administrators’ support affected teacher efficacy by partially mediating teachers’ psychological burnout, and families’ support affected teacher efficacy by completely mediating teachers’ psychological burnout. Fourth, there was statistically significant difference in the path from administrators’ support to teacher efficacy by the presence or not of teachers’ experience violence victimization. Based on these results, the implications were discussed.

본 연구에서는 중등교원이 지각한 사회적 지지, 교사효능감, 심리적 소진 간의 관계를 분석하고, 이 변인들 간의 관계에서 교사의 폭력피해경험 유무 간 차이가 나타나는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기, 제주, 세종, 부산 소재의 중고등학교에 재직 중인 교사 480명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 변인들 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 행정관리자의 지지, 직장동료의 지지, 가족의 지지는 교사효능감에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 행정관리자의 지지와 교사효능감은 교사의 심리적 소진에 부정적 영향을 미쳤으나 직장동료의 지지와 가족의 지지는 교사의 심리적 소진에 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 행정관리자의 지지와 교사의 심리적 소진 간의 관계에서 교사효능감이 부분매개, 가족의 지지는 완전매개로 나타났으나, 직장동료의 지지와 교사의 심리적 소진 관계에서는 교사효능감의 매개효과가 나타나지 않았다. 넷째, 폭력피해경험유무에 따른 다집단분석 결과는 행정관리자의 지지에서 교사효능감까지 이르는 경로에서 차이가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 연구결과에 따라 본 연구의 의미와 시사점을 제시하였다.
