유튜브 정치인플루언서 채널 이용에 따른 인지적, 감정적 충족이 저널리즘 품질 평가에 미치는 영향: 이념적 공명성 개념을 중심으로

본 연구는 유튜브 정치인플루언서 채널의 영향력이 확대되고 있는 현 미디어 환경에서 뉴스이용 자들이 정치인플루언서 채널을 소비함으로써 어떤 인지적, 감정적 충족을 얻는지 이념적 공명성 (ideological resonance) 개념을 적용해 알아보았다. 이념적 공명성을 인지적 공명성(정파성기대 부합, 뉴스전달자·재현대상과의 동일시)과 감정적 공명성(기대부합감정, 뉴스각성정도)으로 나 누어 살펴본 결과, 이용자들이 정치인플루언서 채널을 많이 이용할수록 정파성 기대부합, 동일시 등의 인지적 충족감을 높게 느꼈고, 감정적으로는 기대부합감정을 높게 느꼈다. 또한 연구결과는 유튜브 채널에 대한 정파성 기대부합 정도가 높을수록 유튜브 정치인플루언서 채널이 방송하는 콘텐츠의 공정성, 정확성, 완전성이 높다고 평가해 이념적 공명성이 유튜브 콘텐츠의 저널리즘적 품질 평가에도 유의미한 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여줬다. 분석을 위해 유튜브 인플루언서 채널 이 용자 785명을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사 데이터를 이용했다.

This study aims to understand what kind of cognitive and emotional satisfaction people get by consuming YouTube political influencer channels. This study used the concept ideological resonance, which refers to a cognitive and emotional harmonious state when people consume ideologically congruent news, to explain news users’ cognitive and emotional satisfaction. Based on related studies, the researchers operationalized ideological resonance as involving both cognitive components(partisan expectation fitting, identification) and emotional components(expectancy-confirming emotion, news arousal level). Findings show that, when people consume more YouTube political influencer channels, the more partisan expectation fitting and identification are recognized. People also feel a high level of expectancy-confirming emotion when they use political influencer channels for a long time. People also rated news from like-minded political influencer channels as being fair, accurate, and complete. Therefore, the researchers conclude that news users’ partisan prejudice may affect the evaluation of journalistic quality. Further theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
