본 연구는 전국 소재의 중학교, 고등학교 미술교사를 대상으로 인식 조사를 실시하여 지속가능발전교육에 기초한 사회참여미술수업 개발 필요성 및 개선 방향을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 지속가능발전교육과 사회참여미술의 문헌 조사 및 선행연구를 이론적으로 고찰하고, 양적 분석으로 설문지를 수집하고, 질적 분석으로 현직 교사 인터뷰를 통해 연구 결과를 심층적이고 혼합적인 접근방법으로 제시하였다. 연구대상은 전국의 중, 고등학교에 재직 중인 미술 교사이며, 설문 조사에 응답한 인원은 총 50명이다. 전국 소재의 중학교, 고등학교 미술 교사들의 인식에 대한 설문지는 채희종(2014)의 ‘지속가능발 전교육(ESD)에 대한 교원의 인식 조사‘ 설문지를 토대로 제작하였으며 지속가능발전교육의 개념 및 미술교과에서의 교육적 효과 및 방향성을 묻는 문항을 추가하여 연구자가 재구성하였다. 지속가능발전교육에 기초한 사회참여미술수업의 교육적 효과 및 방향성을 조사에 관련 설문 문항은 교육부의 2015 개정 미술과 교육과정(교육부, 2015b)의 미술교과 학습 목표, 내용체계 및 교과 목표를 참고하여 제작하였다. 연구결과를 위해 수집된 50부의 설문지를 분석하기 위하여 SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Science) Ver. 25.0 통계 프로그램 을 통해 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 현직 교사 인터뷰를 분석하여 지속가능발전교육의 필요성 및 방향성을 종합적으로 도출하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구의 지속가능발전교육과 사회참여미술이 창의·융합 능력 함양에 적합한 교육으로써 두 교과의 통합적 연계 필요성이 높다고 인식함에 따라 연구 문제에 대한 유의미한 결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구를 통해 지속가능한 삶을 위한 사회참여미술의 교육적 활용 방안에 대한 논의가 활성화되며, 지역사회와 연계된 실천적인 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지길 바란다.

The purpose of this study is to conduct awareness surveys on middle and high school art teachers based across the country to explore the need for and improvement of social participation art classes based on sustainable development education. To this end, we theoretically consider literature surveys and prior studies of sustainable development education and social participation art, collect questionnaires with quantitative analysis, and present findings in a deep and mixed approach through current teacher interviews with qualitative analysis. The subjects of the study are art teachers in middle and high schools across the country, with a total of 50 respondents surveyed. The national middle and high school art teachers' awareness questionnaire was based on Chae Hee-jong's 2014 survey of teachers' perceptions of sustainable development education (ESD) and reconstructed by adding questions about the concept and educational effect and direction of sustainable development education. The questionnaire on the educational effectiveness and direction of social participation art classes based on sustainable development education was produced by referring to the Ministry of Education's 2015 revised art and curriculum (Ministry of Education, 2015). Frequency analysis was conducted through the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Ver. 25.0 statistical program to analyze 50 questionnaires collected for the research results. In addition, the necessity and direction of sustainable development education were comprehensively derived by analyzing current teacher interviews. In conclusion, the sustainable development education and social participation art of this study were recognized to have a high need for integrated linkage between the two subjects as education suitable for fostering creativity and convergence. Through this study, discussions on the educational use of social participation art for sustainable life will be activated, and practical research linked to the community will be continued.
