A study on the Effect of the Environmental arts Classes Using Junk - Art on Environmental Sensitivity of the 1st Graders in Middle School -

초록/요약

The purpose of this study is to confirm the impact of environmental art classes using junk art on learners' environmental sensitivity. To this end, we designed environmental art programs through junk art production activities by theoretically considering junk art education and environmental sensitivity, and conducted quantitative research focusing on first-year middle school students. The subject of study is "Saving Endangered Animals with Junk Art" and this class consists of activities that recognize the seriousness of environmental problems and research on junk art by making endangered animals into junk art. It was expected that searching for environmental problems, junk art, and activities to create endangered animals would be effective in identifying the improvement of environmental sensitivity. The study was planned as a total of six classes, but we proceeded with online non-face-to-face classes shortened to two due to the spread of the COVID-19 to see what changes the environmental sensitivity of the experimental group were made. The results of the study were statistically compared and analyzed using a Paired t-test (response sample t-test) through the SPSS Ver 26.0 statistical program, conducted with environmental sensitivity test paper developed by Lee Jae-bung and Lee Doo-gon (2006). In conclusion, environmental art classes using junk art in this study were found to have a positive effect on the improvement of the environmental sensitivity of learners.
