초록/요약
본 연구는 한국 발레 시스템의 근간이 된 러시아 바가노바 발레의 단계별 교육법을 알아보고, 한국 발레에미친 영향력을 살펴보는 것이다. 또한 앞으로 한국 발레의 발전방향을 탐구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 방법에 있어 먼저 바가노바의 ‘클래식 발레의 기본 원리’ 원저를 활용하여 문헌적 고찰을 하였고, 한국에서의 바가노바 교육 현황 및 한국발레의 성장에 관하여 각종 잡지와 신문 기사, 국내 및 해외 문헌 등을 활용하였다. 오늘날 한국 발레는 러시아에 비해 짧은 역사를 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 괄목할만한 성장을 이룩했으며 그 발판으로 검증된 러시아 바가노바 발레 시스템이 존재한다. 이러한 러시아 발레 시스템이 한국발레에 미친 영향은 첫째, 러시아식 발레 교수법과 교육시스템의 도입으로 한국 발레교육의 기초를 정립하였고 둘째, 발레 기능을 점진적으로 발전시킬 수 있도록 고안된 커리큘럼을 통해 학생들의 학습능력을 신장시켰으며 마지막으로, 이러한 시스템의 도입으로 한국에서도 뛰어난 무용수들을 배출하였다. 후발주자인 우리나라가 발레 선진국으로 도약하기 위한 발전 방향으로는 첫째, 우리나라의 고등교육기관인 대학에서도 전문발레지도자 양성 교과과정의 확충이 필요하며 둘째, 한국적 발레교육을 토착화시키는 작업을 통해 한국발레교육시스템을 정립할 필요성이 있다.

The purpose of this study was to look into step-by-step teaching of Russian Vaganova ballet system which was the base of Korean ballet system, and its influence over Korean ballet, and to look for the development direction of Korean ballet. For this study, literature research was conducted with the Vaganova’s work ‘Priniciples of Classical Dance’, articles and other researches about the current situation of Korean ballet education and the development of Korean ballet. Korean ballet education was founded on the introduction of Russian ballet method and education system and Korean students’s learning ability was improved by employing it to develop their ballet function gradually as Russian ballet system did, and finally with the introduction of this system, Korea produced many outstanding ballet dancers. For Korean ballet to make a breakthrough, new curriculum was needed to cultivate professional ballet teachers in a Korean university and it is necessary to define our own Korean ballet system.
