사회적 기업에게 제공되는 정부지원금과 민간지원금이 사회적기업의 목적 달성에 어느 정도 기여 하는가에 대한 질문은 사회적 기업의 지속가능성과 직결되는 중요한 문제라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 정부지원금과 민간지원금이 사회적 기업의 경제적･사회적 성과를 달성하는 데 기여하는가? 라는 연구질문에 대해 선행연구와의 차별적 접근을 시도하였다. 먼저 자율경영공시 참여 사회적 기업의 2012-2019년의 성과 및 경영정보를 추적하는 패널 데이터를 구축하여 패널고정효과모형 분석을 시도 하였으며, 경제적 성과 지표로서 사용되어온 재무제표상의 수치를 사회적 기업의 특성을 고려하여 보정하여 사용하였다. 또한 분석대상을 제조업 분야로 한정하고 비영리와 영리기업을 구분하여 조직 형태 간 특성 차이를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 모형 추정에 대해 대안적인 접근을 시도하고 유의성을 높인 경험적 증거를 제시하여 사회적 기업의 성과 논의에 기여하고자 하였다.

The question of how much external financial support contributes to social enterprises achieving their objectives is crucial with respect to social enterprise sustainability. With an alternative approach from prior research, this study examines the impact of government subsidies and private grants on social enterprises' financial and social performance. Specifically, we adjust balance sheet data considering the characteristics of social enterprise and conduct the fixed effect model analysis, using the voluntary disclosure of management information as it pertains social enterprises (2012-2019). We also compare the differences in empirical results between nonprofit and for-profit organizations in the manufacturing sector. Our study contributes to a discussion on the performance of social enterprises by attempting an alternative approach to model estimation and presenting empirical evidence.
