본 연구에서는 우리사회에서 나타나고 있는 세대갈등의 맥락과 원인에 대한 연령집단간 차이를 살펴보고자 세대/세대갈등과 관련된 연구경력 또는 실무경험이 있는 총 20명의 전문가를 대상으로 델파이조사를 실시하였다. 개방형 질문으로 구성된 1차 조사와 문헌연구를 바탕으로 4개 영역에서 총 102개의 2차 조사 항목이 선정되었다. 2차 조사결과 항목의 평균값이 영역 전체 평균값 이 상인 진술문을 선별하여 조사지를 재구성하여 3차 조사를 실시하였다. 분석결과 전반적으로 청년과 노년 사이에서 세대갈등 인식수 준이 높고, 영역별 이슈에 따라 연령집단간 세대갈등 인식 수준의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 세대갈등이 단순히 한 세대 만의 문제가 아니라 청년기로부터 다양한 생애주기를 거치면서 갖게 되는 여러 경험의 차이와 이해관계에서 나타나는 현상으로 접근할 필요성이 있음을 시사한다.

A Delphi survey was conducted to examine the context and causes of intergenerational conflict between age groups in Korean society. Data were collected from 20 experts who have research and/or field experiences of intergenerational issues. A total of 102 survey items for second round survey were selected from four areas based on first round survey results and literature review. The third round survey was conducted with a restructured survey items, which were selected when the average item score is above the total average score of areas. The results showed that the level of intergenerational conflict between younger people and older people is high, and there are differences in the level of intergenerational conflict by age groups depending on the issues by area. It is suggested that intergenerational conflict is not just a matter of one generation, but a phenomenon caused by differences in experiences and interests that occur over various life cycles.
