본 연구는 다문화 청소년의 자아존중감, 신체만족도, 학교생활적응 간의종단적 상호인과관계를 살펴보고 이에 따른 다문화 청소년 복지의 함양을위한 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 다문화청소년패널데이터(MAPS) 중 초⋅중학생의 전환기 시기인 3∼5차년도 데이터를 자기회귀교차지연모형을 통해 분석하였으며, 다문화 아동 1,307명이 연구대상이다. 연구결과, 첫째, 초등학교 6학년부터 중학교 2학년까지의 세 변인인 자아존중감, 신체만족도, 학교생활적응의 자기회귀경로에서, 이전 시점의 자아존중감, 신체만족도, 학교생활적응이 각각 이후 시점에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자아존중감과 신체만족도 간에는 종단적 상호인과관계가 유의하게 영향을 미쳤으며, 또한 자아존중감과 학교생활적응 간에도 종단적상호인과관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 하지만 신체만족도와 학교생활적응 간에서는 학교생활적응은 신체만족도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나, 신체만족도는 학교생활적응에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 다문화 아동⋅청소년 복지의 함의를 논하였다

The purpose of this study was to explore longitudinal reciprocal effects between self-esteem, body satisfaction, and school adjustment and to discuss implications for the social welfare of adolescents from multicultural families. For this purpose, we used data from the third (2012), the fourth (2013), and fifth (2014) waves of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS). An autoregressive cross-lagged model was used to test reciprocal effects, and 1,307 adolescents responded to the three above-mentioned waves of MAPS. The findings were as follows. First, self-esteem, body satisfaction, and school adjustment in the third wave had significant effects on self-esteem, body satisfaction, and school adjustment in the fourth and fifth waves, respectively. Second, there was a statistically significant longitudinal reciprocal relationship between self-esteem and body satisfaction. In addition, self-esteem had a significant longitudinal reciprocal relationship with school adjustment. However, school adjustment had a statistically significant longitudinal effect on body satisfaction, but not vice versa. On the basis of the results, we offer suggestions to improve self-esteem, school adjustment, and body satisfaction among adolescents from multicultural families.
