초록/요약

This thesis is the result which examined major tendencies, characteristic aspects, and poetic and literary value of Sino-Korean Poetry by Lee Cheonbo by celebrating a complete translation of 󰡔the Collection of Jinam's Works (晉菴集)󰡕, the collection of his works. Lee Cheonbo, the contemporary of Yeongjo of Joseon (英祖) who was the king, is the writer who was active based on the conditions of both nutritious elements of the Noron political family (老論系) of the Lees of Yeonan (延安李氏) and the government official’s experience in the reign of Yeongjo of Joseon. He is also one of Four Great Masters [四家] during the period of Yeongjo of Joseon. The results of the study are summarized as follows: The result which examined the present 504 poems has found that he overwhelmingly preferred to regulated eight-line verse (律詩) style poetry (近體), especially Chireonnyulshi [seven- syllable Chinese verse:七言律詩]. This means that the key of Lee Cheonbo’s poetic literature was Chireonnyulshi. His poems keep properties of regulated eight-line verses which lend stability to themselves and create his restrained emotions and ideas of poems. From this angle, his Sino-Korean poetry can be summarized as ‘the poem world of restrained emotions established based on regulated eight-line verses’. For his poetic literature in the regulated eight-line verse-centered restrained poem world, poems including his identity and recognition of the times as a literary man of the the Noron political family(老論系) formed a branch and on the other hand, a genre of feelings of of a clear and liberal turn of mind [淸曠] and a genre of thoughtful feelings [思慮深遠] created a remarkable scope. In the literary circle of the 18th century which sought diversity and individuality, these poems by Lee Cheonbo had the conservative characteristics which try to adhere to authenticity (正統) and the center, but can be evaluated as his own literary area established as the high-ranking government official.
