하산 하자즈의 패션 사진에 나타난 포용적 세계관

포용의 자세는 하이브리드 미학을 추구하는 현시대에 요구되는 키워드 중 하나이며, 최근 패션 산업에서도 인종차별 갈등으로 인해 다양성이 화두로 떠오르면서 영향력 있는 개념으로 자리 잡았다. 본 연구는패션, 디자인, 예술의 경계를 넘나드는 하산 하자즈의 패션 사진을 대상으로 그의 작품 속에 투영된 포용적 세계관에 대해 연구하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 패션의 관점에 집중하여 그의 작품 속에 투영된 포용적세계관에 대해 연구했다는 점에서 기존 선행연구들과 차별성을 가진다. 이에 따라 포용적 세계관에 대한개념 접근을 통해 사회적 메시지를 이미지로 표현하는 패션 연구의 기반을 마련하고, 피사체와 관련된 스토리와 표현 방식 등을 분석함으로써 포용의 쟁점들을 제시하며 현대 패션 사진의 사회적 가치의 표현에대한 실제적 접근을 하는 것에 연구 목적을 둔다. 연구 방법은 선행연구와 전문 서적들을 통해 현시점에서사용될 수 있는 포용적 세계관이라는 개념과 의미의 쓰임을 정리하였다. 검색을 통해 하자즈가 고국 사진을 찍기 시작한 2000년대부터 가장 최근까지 ‘Hassan Hajjaj’와 ‘Photography’라는 단어가 포함된 이미지, 논문, 저널, 매거진, 영상 인터뷰 자료를 수집하고, 연작별 키워드로 분류하여 관련 정보 및 시각적 요소들을분석하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 패션 연작 사진은 작가의 일관된 세계관을 표현할수 있으며 하자즈의 포용적 세계관이 드러나는 패션 사진은 ‘케시 앤젤스’, ‘마이 락스타즈’, ‘보그, 더 아랍이슈’ 시리즈로 구분되었다. 이를 바탕으로 패션 사진에 나타난 포용적 세계관의 표현 특성은 의미의 중첩, 스테레오타입의 파괴, 오브제의 재탄생으로 도출되었다. 하자즈의 패션 사진은 패셔너블한 캐릭터, 사물들이 중첩하며 새로운 공간에서 경계를 넘고 뒤섞이는 포용의 공간으로, 경계가 없고 현대 아랍 문화의 시각적 내러티브를 제시하며 패션, 인간, 공간에 대한 고정관념의 파괴를 보여준다. 또한 패션 사진에 노출된오브제들은 작가가 제시하는 새로운 관점으로 재탄생된 것들이 주를 이루며, 포용적 세계관을 물리적 세계에서 시각화하는데 결정적 역할을 하는 것으로 보인다.

초록/요약

This research investigates the fashion photography for the series of Hajajj and analyzes the stories related to subjects, expression modes. Hence, this research concretely derives the building plans of inclusive world view that can be figured out through the fashion photography in Hajajj. The results of this study are as follows. First, the engagement can express the world view with messages such as the culture, preference, value, social position, class of people in fashion beyond the role of reenactment in fashion photography. Additionally, several expressions with the inclusive world views have been captured. Second, Hajajj’s photography in terms of effective series to express the photographer’s consistent worldview would be distinguished to representative 3 series such as ‘Kesh angels’, ‘my rockstars’ and ‘vogue, the Arab issue’. Third, the expressive characteristics for the inclusive world view in Hajajj’s fashion photography had been derived as the overlay of meanings, destruction of stereotype, the rebirth of the object, etc. Hajjaj’s fashion photography is the inclusive spaces where fashionable characters, objects had been overlapped, crossing boundaries, and mixed in new spaces. In addition, these borderless photos also suggest visual narratives of modern Arab cultures and show destruction of stereotypes for fashion, human beings, spaces.
