중장년층 재취업에 관한 연구동향: 국내 학술지 게재 논문을 중심으로

Research trends on re-employment among the middle-aged: Focusing on papers published in domestic academic journals

Recently, the reemployment of middle-aged people has emerged as a core research topic in many research fields. This is because, in a society with a low fertility and aging population, the provision of middle-aged workers plays an important role in economic development. The purpose of this study is to examine research trends by analyzing 50 papers published in domestic academic journals related to reemployment of the middle-aged since 2000. First, using the Korean Journal of Citation Index (KCI) and Research Information Service (RISS) databases, research articles from cross-searched journals published between 2000 and 2021 were included for analysis. A total of 171 papers were initially identified with the keyword 'middle-aged reemployment', and finally 50 papers were included for analysis after excluding duplicate papers and irrelevant content. As a result of the analysis, first, papers by field related to reemployment for middle-aged and older adults appeared in the order of education (12 articles), welfare (8 articles), administration and policy (6 articles), psychology and counseling (3 articles), and economics (2 articles). Second, in terms of research methods, quantitative studies accounted for the most at 76% (38 articles), and qualitative and mixed studies were conducted at 24% (12 articles). Third, ‘retirement/outplacement’ and ‘psychological factor’ were mentioned the most as the main keywords for re-employment research for middle-aged adults. Fourth, it was derived that most studies dealt with 'influencing factors, education and training, and policies in relation to re-employment for middle-aged adults. Based on the analysis results, the academic and practical implications of re-employment for middle-aged adults are presented, along with the limitations of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies.

우리 사회에서 저출산·고령화 문제가 심각해지면서 중장년층의 재취업에 대한 많은 연구 분야에서 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 사회현상에 입각하여 본 연구에서는 2000년대 이후 중장년층 재취업 관련 국내 학술지 게재 논문을 살펴보고자 하였다. 먼저 분석대상 논문 선정을 위해 한국학술지인용색인(KCI)과 학술연구정보서비스(RISS)의 데이터베이스를 활용하여 2000년부터 2021년 7월까지 게재된 국내 학술지를 교차 검색하였다. KCI에 등재된 국내 학술지 중‘중장년재취업’을 키워드로 검색하여 총 171편의 논문을 추출하였고, 중복논문 제외 및 문헌내용 검토를 통하여 ‘중장년재취업’과 관련된 50편을 최종적으로 선정하여 연구동향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 첫째, 중장년 재취업 관련 연구는 주로 교육학(12편), 복지(8편), 행정 및 정책(6편), 심리 및 상담(3편), 경제(2편) 등의 학문분야에서 이루어지고 있었다. 둘째, 연구방법의 측면에서 양적연구가 76%(38편)로 주류였으며, 질적 및 혼합연구는 24%(12편) 정도였다. 셋째, 중장년의 재취업 연구 주제어로서 ‘은퇴/퇴직’과 ‘심리적 요소’가 가장 많이 언급되었다. 넷째, 대부분의 연구가 중장년 재취업과 관련하여‘영향요인·교육·정책’에 대한 내용을 다루고 있었다. 이를 토대로 중장년 재취업 연구에 대한 학문적·실천적 시사점을 제시하며, 더불어 본 연구의 한계와 후속연구를 제안하였다.
