본 연구는 사회정책 욕구 및 사회통합 인식 조사 2020년 자료를 활용하여 우리나라에서 사회계층이 사회적경제 지지에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 복지태도와 정치성향의 매개효과를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 복지국가의 대안으로서 새로운 민관협력 모델인 사회적경제의 역할과 함의에 대해 탐색해보고자 한다. 연구결과에 따르면 사회계층 변수들 가운데 가구균등화소득이 사회적경제 지지와 정적인 관계를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 경로분석에서는 가구균등화소득이 복지태도 경로를 통해 사회적경제 지지 수준에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 반면, 정치성향을 통한 매개효과는 확인되지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 사회계층에 따라 증세를 통한 보편적 복지 확대에 대한 입장이 달라지며, 이는 결과적으로 사회적경제에 대해 지지하는 입장을 형성하는데 중요한 역할을 하고 있음을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of social class on support for the social economy and the mediation effect of attitudes to welfare and political orientation in South Korea using the 2020 Social Policy Needs and Social Integration Perception Survey. This study explores the roles and implications of the social economy—a new public-private partnership model—as an alternative to the welfare state. Our study found that equivalized disposable income is positively associated with support for social economy. Mediation analysis shows that equivalized disposable income indirectly affects support for the social economy support through attitudes to welfare. In contrast, no mediation effect of political orientation was found. These findings suggest that attitudes toward tax increases to enable universal welfare expansion are likely to depend on social class, which in turn plays an important role in shaping support for the social economy.
