본 연구의 목적은 부모의 양육태도가 청소년의 학업성적 및 학업무기력에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 그릿의 매개효과를 확인하고, 각 경로에서 성별 차이를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 통해 우리나라 청소년들에게 특히 중요한 학업에 영향을 미치는 요인을 밝히고, 성별에 따른 개입방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 한국아동․청소년패널조사 2018(KCYPS 2018) 중1 패널 2차년도 자료의 중학교 2학년 2,438명을 대상으로 구조방정식 모델과 다집단 분석을 활용하였다. 그릿은 부모의 긍정적/부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 학업성적 및 학업무기력 간의 관계를 모두 완전매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 다집단 분석결과, 부정적 부모양육태도가 학업무기력에 미치는 영향에 있어 남녀 집단 간 차이가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 그릿이 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 학업무기력 간의 관계를 남학생은 완전매개, 여학생은 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 성별 차이를 반영하여 청소년의 학업성적 및 학업태도를 향상시키기 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of grit in the process where parenting attitudes affect adolescents’ academic grades and helplessness, and to identify gender differences. Data from the second waves of Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) 2018 were utilized. A total of 2,438 adolescents in the second year of middle school were included in the final analysis. The structural equation model and a multi-group analysis between genders were conducted. Main results of the study are as follows. First, it showed that grit completely mediated the relationship between positive/negative parenting attitudes and the academic grades/helplessness. Second, a multi-group analysis showed that there was the gender difference in terms of the effect of negative parenting attitude on helplessness. Grit fully mediated the relation between negative parenting attitude and helplessness in male adolescents, but it partially mediated this relation in female adolescents. These results are expected to be used as basic data for improving adolescents’ academic grades and attitude, reflecting gender difference.
