초록/요약
본고에서는 한국어 교재에 제시된 편지 텍스트의 격식성 반영 양상을 검토하였다. 분석 대상은 국내 출판 16종의 통합형 한국어 교재에 나타난 편지 텍스트로, 분석 초점은 격식성에 따른 편지 텍스트의 전체 분포와 격식적 편지 텍스트의 출현 양상이었다. 교재 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 격식성에 따른 편지 텍스트의 전반적 분포를 보면 격식적이면서 교육적 가치가 높은 편지 텍스트가 상당히 부족한 실정이다. 둘째, 등급과 목적 분포의 불합리 및 발·수신 관계 설정의 모호성 등의 문제점을 발견할 수 있었다. 실제성의 차원에서 격식적 편지 텍스트의 적절성에 문제가 있는 경우도 있었다. 결론적으로, 현재 한국어 교재에 격식성을 중심으로 하는 편지 쓰기 교육을 위한 체계적 접근이 부족하며, 이러한 점에서 한국어 교육에서 편지라는 장르를 활용하는 과정에 격식성의 중요성을 더 깊이 고려할 필요가 있다. 이러한 결과는 교재의 실제성 차원에서 한국어 교재에서의 편지 텍스트 활용에 관한 새로운 방향을 모색하는 데 기초 자료가 될 수 있다.

This study aims to analyze the formality of letter texts in Korean textbooks. The analysis covered all the letter texts, which are included in 16 integrated textbooks published in Korea. The analysis focused on the overall distribution of letter texts based on formality and the appearance patterns of formal letter texts. In particular, formality was analyzed by dividing it into two dimensions: linguistic formality and contextual formality. The textbook analysis yielded the following conclusions: First, formal letters with high educational value were not sufficiently presented in the textbook. Second, some of the letter texts in the textbook did not meet the Korean standards and educational goals. Additionally, the format requirements of the letters, such as the sender-receiver relationship, were unclear, or unrealistic texts were presented in terms of authenticity. In conclusion, contemporary Korean textbooks lack a systematic approach to letter-writing education that focuses on formality. In terms of textbook practicality, these findings can be used to find a new direction for the use of letter texts in Korean textbooks.
