This study aims to suggest the academic practical direction of secretarial science in the future through a research trend analysis of the career of secretaries reported in the papers published in the Journal of Secretarial Studies, a Korean Association of Secretarial Science from 1993 to 2021. To this end, the main results of analyzing the publication year, subject, method, variable and topic keyword of research for a total of 76 papers, including 39 papers on the career of secretarial majors and 37 papers on the career of secretaries, are as follows. In terms of publication year, papers on the career of secretarial majors were highest in number(a total of 16 papers) from 2011 to 2015, and the number of papers on the career of secretaries was the highest from 2016 to 2020 with 14 papers. As for the status of each study subject, the current secretary was the most studied subject with 38.5% of students enrolled in the secretarial department of junior colleges. Furthermore, the analysis results by research method showed that 59 quantitative studies accounted for 72.0% of the total studies, and 28.0% of qualitative studies were qualitative studies with 23 cases of research. Further, the variables of the quantitative study were analyzed in four dimensions: personal factors, environmental factors, career paths, and careers. Likewise, the outcome variables were analyzed in two dimensions: the respective career of secretary majors and secretaries. Notably, analyzing the keywords of the qualitative study, showed that degree-related variables were studied the most in the career of secretarial majors and career-related variables were the most studied in the career of secretaries. Finally, based on the study results, future research directions for the study of the respective career of secretarial majors and secretaries were presented.

본 연구는 1993년부터 2021년까지 한국비서학회의 학술지인 비서·사무경영연구에 게재된 논문 중에 비서직의 진로 및 경력에 대한 연구동향 분석을 통해 향후 비서학의 학문적 실무적 방향성을 제언하고자 한다. 이를 위해 비서학 전공자들의 진로에 대한 논문 39편과 비서직의 경력에 대한 논문 37편으로 총 76편의 논문을 대상으로 발행연도, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구 변인 및 연구주제어를 분석한 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 발행연도는 진로 논문 수는 2011년부터 2015년까지 16건으로 가장 많았고, 경력 논문 수는 2016년부터 2020년까지 14편으로 가장 많았다. 연구대상별 현황은 전문대 비서과 재학생이 38.5%, 현직비서가 38.5%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 연구방법별 분석 결과는 양적연구가 59건으로 전체의 절반을 훨씬 넘는 72.0%에 해당했으며, 질적연구는 23건으로 28.0%로 나타났다. 양적연구의 변인은 개인적 요인, 환경적 요인, 진로, 경력의 4차원으로 분석하였고, 그 결과 진로에서는 개인적 요인이, 경력에서는 환경적 요인의 비중이 크게 나타났다. 결과변인은 진로와 경력의 2차원으로 분석하였고, 그 결과 진로에서는 진로심리 관련 변인이, 경력에서는 조직효과성 변인이 가장 많이 연구되었다. 그리고 질적 연구의 주제어 분석 결과 진로에서는 학위관련 변인이, 경력에서는 경력개발관련 변인이 가장 많이 연구되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 비서직의 진로 및 경력의 연구에 대한 추후 연구방향을 제시하였다.
