초록/요약
본 연구에서는 영ㆍ유아 정서지능 관련 변인에 대한 효과크기를 분석하여 각 변인의 영향력을 파악하고, 추후 연구에의 방향성을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 영ㆍ유아정서지능 관련 연구를 강화변인과 약화변인으로 나누고, 영ㆍ유아 개인 특성, 교사 및 기관특성, 부모 및 가정 특성으로 범주화하여 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영ㆍ유아 정서지능 관련 강화변인 중 영ㆍ유아 개인 특성의 ‘사회적 능력’과 교사 및기관 특성의 ‘기관 적응’은 영ㆍ유아 정서지능을 가장 강화하는 변인인 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 영ㆍ유아 정서지능 관련 강화변인 중 부모 및 환경 변인이 정서지능에 미치는 영향력은낮은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 하위 범주별 영ㆍ유아 정서지능에 대한 관점의 차이에서 비롯된것으로, 영ㆍ유아 정서지능에 대한 관점을 재고찰할 필요성을 시사한다. 둘째, 영ㆍ유아 정서지능 관련 약화변인 중 ‘반사회적 행동’, ‘공격성’, ‘부적응 행동’ 등의 비율이 높을수록 영ㆍ유아 정서지능은 낮으며, 각각의 변인 간에도 관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 영ㆍ유아정서지능 발달을 저해하는 변인들에 대해서도 그 원인이나 각 변인 간 관계 및 영향력의 경로 등을 규명하는 후속 연구가 필요함을 시사한다. 더불어 교사 및 기관 특성 변인의 사례수가 미비했던 점은 교사 및 기관 특성 변인과 영ㆍ유아 정서지능과의 관련성을 규명하는 연구가 더욱 활발히 이루어질 필요성을 드러낸다.

This study aimed to identify the influence of variables related to the emotional intelligence of young children through meta-analysis. The variables were divided into strengthening and weakening variables, and each variable was used to categorize children’s individual characteristics, the characteristics of early childhood teachers and institutions, and the characteristics of parents and families. The results of this study are as follows. First, “social ability” and “institutional adaptation” were found to be the variables that strengthen emotional intelligence. Meanwhile, the influence of the variables related to parents and families was lower than that of the other variables. This results implies the necessity of reconsidering the viewpoint of emotional intelligence. Second, “anti-social behavior”, “aggressiveness” and “maladjustment behavior” were found to weaken emotional intelligence and were correlated. This suggests that follow-up studies are needed to identify the causes of the factors that hinder the development of emotional intelligence, the relationship between variables, and the path of influence. Furthermore, it is necessary to study the relationship between emotional intelligence and the characteristics of early childhood teachers and institutions.
