연구목적: 본 연구목적은 전문대학 기반 중등이후교육 운영체계 개발을 위하여 발달장애학생의 전문대학 교육에 대해 교육관련자(전문대학 직원 및 교수)와 학생 및 학부모 세 집단의 경험 및 지원요구를 질적연구를 통해 탐색하는 것이다. 연구방법: 전문대학의 교육관련자, 발달장애학생 및 학부모 세 집단의 21명을 대상으로 반구조화된 심층면담이 이루어졌다. 면담 자료는 지속적 비교분석법으로 분석되었으며, 연구의 타당도 확보를 위해 풍부한 자료 수집, 삼각검증, 연구참여자 검토를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 발달장애학생의 전문대학 교육에 대한 세 집단의 경험과 지원요구에 대하여 4가지 대주제와 12가지의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 결론: 현재 시의적으로 관심이 고조되는 발달장애인의 학령기 교육 이후의 ‘중등이후교육’이 실행되기 위한 운영체계를 전문대학 기반으로 개발할 때 요구되는 지원과 과제를 중심으로 논의를 제시하였다. 발달장애학생의 학업 및 비학업 전문대학생활에 대한 실태와 초기 성년기 발달장애인에게 질 높은 중등이후교육 제공을 위한 과제들을 처음으로 다각적으로 파악하여 밝혔다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and support needs of educational personnel in colleges as well as college students with developmental disabilities (DD) and their parents to aid in the development of an operating system of college-based postsecondary education for students with DD. Method: Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 21 participants consisting of staff members and professors of colleges as well as students with DD and their parents. Interview data were analyzed through a constant comparative method, and abundant data collection, triangular verification, and member check were conducted to assess the validity of the study. Results: Four major themes and 12 sub-themes were derived, and the major themes are as follows: transition processes from high school to college for students with DD; difficulties with academic activities at college and sporadic supports; bright and dark sides of non-academic life at college; and tasks for improving college-based postsecondary education for students with DD. Conclusion: Based on the four major themes on the current status of college life of students with DD and tasks for improving the college-based postsecondary education, discussions were presented with a focus on suggestions for policy making and practices aimed at developing an operating system for college-based postsecondary education.
