초록/요약
The purpose of this study is to critically review idiomatic expressions as educational content in Korean language education. To this end, the flow and characteristics of idiomatic expression research were initially reviewed. Then, a Korean language curriculum and textbooks were analyzed to examine the status of idiomatic expressions in Korean language education, as well as educational content formation. Idiomatic expressions have long been a major element of Korean language education, but they are often criticized for having inconsistent presentation of concepts, terms, and categories. These issues have not been resolved, and this linguistic feature confuses learners and teachers when presented in curricula and textbooks. Based on the analysis results, this discussion emphasizes the need to refine the educational knowledge content of idiomatic expressions, as well as the importance of grammar education.

전영주·김은성·최은정, 2022, 국어 관용 표현의 교육 내용에 대한 비판적 검토, 어문연구, 195 : 287~332 본 연구는 국어교육의 교육 내용으로서 관용 표현을 비판적으로 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 먼저 관용 표현 연구의 흐름과 특징을 확인한 후, 국어과 교육과정과 교과서를 분석하여 국어교육에서 관용 표현의 위상과 교육 내용화 양상을 살폈다. 관용 표현은 오랫동안 국어과 교육의 주요 내용 요소로 자리 잡아 왔으나 개념과 용어, 범주 구분의 일관성 없는 제시에 대한 문제는 꾸준히 지적되어 왔다. 연구 결과 이러한 문제는 여전히 해결되지 않은 채, 학습자와 교사에게 혼동을 주는 내용으로 교육과정과 교과서로 제공되고 있는 실정이다. 본 논의는 분석 결과를 근거로, 관용 표현의 교육 내용에 대한 지식 내용의 정련화가 필요하며, 그 역할을 문법 교육이 맡아야 한다고 강조하였다. 연구는 문법교육의 입장에서 국어 어휘로서 관용 표현에 대한 지식, 관용 표현 사용에 대한 지식에 집중한 교육 내용 정련이 필요함을 제안하였다.
