본 연구의 목적은 놀이 및 여가활동 만족도가 아동의 주관적 삶의 질에미치는 영향과 부모 및 친구 관계와 학업성적의 매개효과를 확인하고, 초등학생과 중학생의 집단에 따른 차이를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원의 ‘2019 청소년이 행복한 지역사회 지표조사 및 조성사업연구’의 원자료를 활용해 분석하였으며, 연구대상은 초등학생 2,508명, 중학생 2,679명으로 총 5,187명이다. 연구 모형을 검증하기 위해 구조방정식 모형과 다집단 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 놀이 및 여가활동 만족도는 주관적 삶의 질에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 그 외의 모든 경로의 직접 효과도 정적으로 유의하였다. 또한 놀이 및 여가활동 만족도와 주관적삶의 질의 관계에서 부모 관계, 친구 관계, 학업성적의 매개효과는 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 학교급에 따른 다집단 분석에서 놀이 및 여가활동 만족도가 친구 관계에 이르는 경로와 부모 관계가 주관적 삶의 질에 이르는 경로에서 중학생 집단보다 초등학생 집단의 경로계수가 유의하게 높은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 본 연구는 아동의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 놀 권리 보장의 중요성을 확인하였으며 놀 권리가 보장되기 위한 실천적, 정책적제언을 제시하였다.

This study aimed to identify the effects of satisfaction with play and leisure activities on childrens quality of life (QOL) and the mediating effects of academic performance and relationships with parents and peers. Furthermore, we examined the differences between elementary and middle school students for all paths of structural equation modeling. For this analysis, we used the Youth Happiness Indicator Survey that the National Youth Policy Institute of South Korea conducted in 2019. The sample consisted of 5,187 children (2,508 elementary and 2,679 middle school students). We carried out structural equation modeling and multi-group analyses of the data. The key findings are as follows. First, satisfaction with play and leisure activities significantly and positively impacted childrens QOL, and other direct paths were found to be significant. Second, the mediating effects of academic performance and relationships with parents and peers were all significant. Additionally, according to the multi-group analysis, the path coefficient of the effect of satisfaction on peer relationships was significantly higher in elementary school students than in middle school students. Further, the same results emerged for the path coefficient of the parent relationship on QOL. On the basis of these findings, this study discusses the necessity of ensuring childrens right t o p lay a nd p res ents p ractice a nd p olicy suggestions to ensure it.
