텍스트 시각화 방식의 디지털 어노테이션 서비스 디자인 연구 -e–Book에서의 인문학 독서를 바탕으로-

A Study on the Design of Digital Annotation Service in Text Visualization -based on e-book readings in Humanities-

초록/요약

본 연구는 e-Book 독서 행위에 어노테이션을 적극적으로 활용함으로써 종이책 환경보다 나은 독서생활을 영위하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 텍스트의 자기화 및 시각 재생산적 독서 방법을 제안하며, 그 적용은 다양한 해석의 여지가 존재하고 자기화가 가능하다고 판단되는 문학이나 인문학에 한정한다. 이를 위해 책과 인문학, 디지털 환경에서 변화한 책의 형태인 e-Book에 대해 조사하고 어노테이션의 정의와 표현 방식, 활용 시의 이점을 파악하여 e-Book 독서에서 시각화를 활용한 어노테이션으로 텍스트의 해석과 자기화, 책의 체화가 용이할 것으로 판단하였다. 조사 결과를 바탕으로 종이책 환경에서의 평이함을 이미지, 음성, 영상 등 디지털 콘텐츠의 다양성과 결합시킴으로써 보다 적극적인 독서 방법을 모색한다. 본 연구는 사용자가 읽은 텍스트의 자기화 및 그에 따른 시각 재생산과경험 확장을 목표로 새롭게 책을 읽고 해석하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 서비스에서 사용자는 노트를 이용하여 해석 및 메타데이터를 남길 수 있으며, 태그를 통해 사용자의 생각을 카테고리로 분류하여 보다 쉽게 검색하고 공유할 수 있다. 또한 이미지 추가와 기록으로 텍스트 시각화가 용이하도록 제작하였다. 이로써 사용자는 효율성과 확장성, 감성을 충족하고 텍스트를 자기화 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 텍스트의 자기화와 시각적 재생산을 활용한 어노테이션을 통해 더욱 폭넓은 e-Book 독서가 가능하다는점을 밝혔다는 것에 의의를 두고자 한다. 본 연구를 초석으로 향후 독서 변화 트렌드에 부합하는 연구와 사용자 조사를 통해 사용자들의 니즈를 반영한 효과적인 e-Book에서의 텍스트 시각화와 어노테이션에 관한 고찰이 지속되기를 바란다.

초록/요약

This study aims at creating a better reading life than a paper book environment by actively using annotations in e-Book reading behavior. It proposes a method of embodying and visual reproduction of text, and its application is limited to literature or humanities that have room for various interpretations and are judged to be capable of embodying. For this, I investigate e-Book, a form of books that has changed in the book, humanities, and digital environment, and focus on grasping the definition, expression method, and advantages of using annotations. Therefore, it is judged that it would be easy to interpret and embody the book through annotation using visualization in e-Book reading. By combining simplicity in a paper book environment with the diversity of digital contents such as images, voices, and videos, this study aims at finding an active participation in reading. In addition, I try to propose a new method of reading and interpreting books with the aim of embodying text read by users, visual reproduction, and experience expansion accordingly. In this service, readers can leave interpretations and meta-data using notes, and through tags, readers' thoughts are classified into categories, making it easier to search and share. In addition, this service is created to facilitate text visualization by adding and recording images. As a result, efficiency, scalability, and sensitivity can satisfy and text can embody. This study aims to be meaningful in that it reveal that wider e-Book reading is possible through annotation using embodying and visual reproduction of text. As the cornerstone of this study, the hope is that the review of text visualization and annotation in effective e-Books that reflect users' needs will continue through research and user surveys consistent with future reading change trends.
