본 연구는 필리핀 결혼이민자 어머니의 초국가주의 실천을 통한 자녀양육에 대해 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구참여자는 필리핀 출신의 결혼이민자 어머니 4명과 그들의 자녀인 만 4∼5세 유아4명, 그 유아들의 담임교사 4명이었다. 연구자는 질적연구방법인 사례연구방법을 사용하여 4개의 사례를 연구하였으며, 어머니와의 심층면담 및 집단면담, 유아와의 면담, 교사와의 면담 및 기관에서의 참여관찰을 통해 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 필리핀 결혼이민자 어머니들은사회문화적 차원의 초국가주의 실천을 통하여 자녀양육을 하고 있었다. 특히 임신과 출산 과정에서는필리핀과의 연락을 통한 가족 네트워크와 필리핀 결혼이민자 어머니들의 공동체 네트워크가, 자녀양육과정에서는 필리핀 가족 네트워크, 결혼이민자 공동체 네트워크, 유아교육기관과의 소통이라는 초국가주의 실천이 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 필리핀 결혼이민자 어머니의 초국가주의 실천을 통한 자녀양육에서 필리핀과 한국의 양방향적 균형의 필요성과 유아교육기관과의 소통의 중요성을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study was to explore the parenting of Filipino married immigrant mothers through the practice of transnationalism. The participants in the study were four mothers of married immigrants from the Philippines, their four children aged four to five years old, and four homeroom teachers of the children. The researcher studied four cases using the case study method, one of the qualitative research methods, and collected and analyzed data through in-depth individual and group interviews with mothers, interviews with children, interviews with teachers, and participatory observation at early childhood education/care centers. The results of the study are as follows. Filipino married immigrant mothers were raising their children through the practice of transnationalism at the socio-cultural level. In particular, the practice of transnationalism was shown through the family network with the Philippines and the community network of Filipino married immigrant mothers during pregnancy and childbirth. Furthermore, during child-rearing, the Filipino family network, the community network of Filipino married immigrant mothers, and communication with early childhood education/care centers appeared as a practice of transnationalism. These results suggest the necessity of a bilateral balance between the Philippines and Korea and the importance of communication with early childhood education/care centers in raising children through the practice of transnationalism by Filipino married immigrant mothers.
