2000년대 이후 심각하게 진행되고 있는 환경오염과 생태계 파괴는 기후 변화라는 전지구적인 위기 상황을 불러왔으며, 우리는 기후 재앙에 맞서는 자연과 문명에 대한 총체적인 인식 전환이 요구되고 있는 시대에 살고 있다. 이 연구는 <스위트 투스>와 <레미니센스>, 「종의 기원」에 대해 진화론적인 시각으로 분석함으로써, 생태 위기에 대응하는 인간과 자연의 기술적 적응의 양상을 밝혀내고, 21세기 생태비평의 가능성을 살펴보려고 한다. <스위트 투스>에서는 바이러스가 만들어내는 문명 위기와 하이브리드와 대립 혹은 공존하며 살아가는 인간의 새로운 공동체 의식 및 유전자 실험의 폐해와 가능성을 살펴보았고, <레미니센스>에서는 해수면 상승으로 인해 바다 속으로 가라앉는 도시인들의 사랑과 그 사랑을 지키기 위한 기억 재생 장치의 상징성 및 의식적 퇴화의 과정을 분석하였다. 「종의 기원」에서는 유기체가 사라지고 로봇만이 살아남은 미래 도시에서 로봇 종이 만들어낸 문명의 가치와 유기 물질의 생명 활동이 내포한 역설적 상징성을 분석하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해, 생태 위기 속에서 기술적 적응은 인간과 자연의 공존과 진화에 빼놓을 수 없는 조건임을 확인하고, 인간과 동식물, 인간과 기술 및 생명체와 주변 환경(자연, 문화)과의 역동적 생태계를 새롭게 이해할 수 있는 21세기 생태비평의 가능성을 찾으려 했다.

초록/요약

Since the 2000s, serious environmental pollution and ecological destruction have created a global crisis caused by climate change. In the face of climate catastrophe, we live in an era that demands a holistic change in our perception of nature and civilization. This study analyzes Sweet Tooth, Reminiscence, and “Origin of Species” from an evolutionary perspective, reveals the aspect of technological adaptation of humans and nature in the face of ecological crisis, and try to take a look at the possibility of ecological criticism in the 21st century. In Sweet Tooth, I looked at the civilization crisis created by viruses and humans living in confrontation or coexistence with hybrids, and examined the new sense of community that these humans have, and the harms and possibilities of genetic experiments. In Reminiscence, I analyzed the love of city dwellers sinking into the sea due to sea level rise, and the process of consciously degenerating and using a memory regeneration device to protect that love. In 「Origin of Species」, I analyzed the future city where organisms disappeared and only robots survived, and analyzed the value of civilization created by robot species and the paradoxical symbolism of the life activities of organic materials. Through this process, I have confirmed that technological adaptation in an ecological crisis is an essential condition for the coexistence and evolution of humans and nature. I was able to find the possibility of ecological critique in the 21st century to understand the ecosystem in which humans and organisms, humans and technology, and living things and their surrounding environments (nature and culture) are dynamically connected.
