초록/요약
본 연구는 사회적기업의 특성이 지역발전에 미치는지 그 영향을 살펴보고, 각 특성들이 어떠한 경로를 통해 지역발전에 영향을 미치는지 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 <서울시 사회적기업 재정지원사업 효과성 연구>의 서울시 사회적기업 전수조사 자료 177부를 활용하여 구조방정식 모형 분석에 이어서 부트스트래핑, 집단간 등가제약을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 첫째, 사회적기업가 정신이 높게 함양될수록 사회적기업 성과가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 재정지원을 많이할수록 사회적기업 성과가 향상되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 셋째, 사회적기업의 성과가 향상될수록 지역사회가 발전하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 넷째, 사회적기업가 정신은 사회적․경제적 성과 창출을 통해 간접적으로 지역발전에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 다섯째, 재정지원은 지역발전에 유의한 부정적 영향을 미쳤으나, 사회적기업 성과를 매개로 할 때는 지역발전에 유의한 긍정적 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 사회적기업의 사회적․경제적 성과를 통한 간접적 지역발전 도모, 정부와 민간의 재정지원 고도화를 통한 사회적기업 성과 확산, 사회적기업가 정신 함양 교육을 제언하였다.

This study examines the direct effects of the characteristics of social enterprises on regional development and explores multiple pathways through which these characteristics affect regional development. To this end, a structural equation modeling analysis was conducted using survey data collected from 177 social enterprises in Seoul as part of the research on the effectiveness of financial support for social enterprises in Seoul. The main findings are as follows: First, the higher the level of social entrepreneurship, the higher the performance of social enterprises. Second, a higher level of financial support led to better performance of social enterprises. Third, the better performance of social enterprises significantly strengthened regional development. Fourth, social entrepreneurship had a positive impact on regional development indirectly by increasing the performance of social enterprises. Fifth, financial support had a negative impact on regional development, but it showed a positive impact when it was mediated by the performance of social enterprises. These findings suggest the promotion of regional development by increasing social enterprises’ performance, providing more financial support to improve social enterprises’ performance, and expanding training and education for social entrepreneurs.
