본 연구에서는 사회적 자본과 진로탐색활동의 영향관계 및 빈곤의 상호작용 효과를 살펴보고자, 베트남 청년들이 인식하는 사회적 자본을 신뢰, 네트워크, 사회적 규범으로 세분화하고 각 요인이 진로탐색에 미치는 영향과 빈곤의 조절효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 <베트남 지역사회 자립을 위한 “보건의료ㆍ기후변화ㆍ일자리 창출” 교육 프로그램 수요조사>의 자료를 활용하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 베트남 청년의 사회적 자본이 풍부할수록 진로탐색활동이 왕성해지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적 자본의 하위요소인 신뢰, 네트워크, 사회적규범 모두 진로탐색활동에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 빈곤은 사회적 자본 및 그 하위요소인 신뢰 및 네트워크가 진로탐색활동에 미치는 영향을 조절하였는데, 빈곤할수록 사회적 자본 및 신뢰, 네트워크가 진로탐색활동에 미치는 영향을 억제시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 베트남 지역사회의 사회적 자본 축적 필요, 신뢰와 네트워크에 기반한 직업탐색 기회 확대, 소득구간별 차별화된 진로탐색활동 지원, 베트남 지역적 특색에 따른 빈곤 원인 파악 및 환경 개선을 제언하였다.

This study aims to explore the causal relationship between social capital and career exploration activities and the interactive effect of poverty. To achieve the research goal, this study conducted a hierarchical regression analysis using data from the <Needs Assessment of Educational Programs of Health Care, Climate Change, and Job Creation for Community Capacity Building in Vietnam>, which was a research conducted in 2021 by the authors at Ewha Womans University with support from the National Research Foundation of Korea. Based on a unique dataset of 247, first, this study performed multiple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of social capital perceived by Vietnamese youth, focusing on trust, network, and social norms, on career exploration. Second, this study further employed a hierarchical regression to test whether poverty moderates the causal effects of social capital factors on career exploration. The results of this study, first, present a positive relationship between social capital and career exploration activities of Vietnamese youth. Second, trust, network, and social norms, all of which are sub-factors of social capital, were found to have positive effects on career exploration activities. Third, this study identified a negative moderating effect of poverty on the effects of social capital and its sub-factors, trust, and network, on career exploration activities. In short, It was found that the more poor people are, the more the social capital, trust, and networks have a negative effect on career search activities. Based on the findings, this study suggests the need to accumulate social capital in the Vietnamese community, job search based on trust and network, support for differentiated career search activities according to income, rigorous identification of causes of youth poverty considering theVietnam context, and environmental improvement.
